Boden Lake
The piece has been adapted as a radio play from the first, and arguably the best, novel by Stanislaw Dygat (1914-1978), novelist, screenwriter and
translator. The play deals with tragi-comic events in the life and fate of a young Polish prisoner-of-war interned, together with French and British
soldiers, in a German prison camp at Konstanz on Lake Boden. The protagonist is an educated middle class man with certain typically Polish
obsessions, and at the same time torn by his emotions for two different women. His very idealistic dreams come straight from literature and their
confrontation with real life exposes Polish mythology in all its nakedness and absurdity. In a manner reminiscent of Gombrowicz, Lake Boden attempts
to analyse the romantic Polish tradition of national martyrdom through mockery and irony.
I suoi
which must strictly follow their instructions. The main character of the project is a she-goat, which must be found by the theatre and brought to the
stage…
Projet
