Professional Statement
I am an economist with over 6 years of work experience in investment management, commercial banking,
economic research, business development and relationship management, financial analysis and corporate
finance. I have a strong passion for financial markets that’s why I am pursuing the Chartered Financial
Analyst (CFA®) Program with The CFA Institute and currently studying for level 2. I am now looking for a

Job Purpose
Functionally as head of research and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, I provide a
comprehensive economic and investment research and analysis function. I am also responsible for the day
to day operations of the Lilongwe branch, leading in business development and the management of a
portfolio of both corporate and high-net worth clients.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analytics (40%):
• Leading in monitoring and analyzing macroeconomic developments at national, regional and
international level affecting Malawi.
• Providing technical input in formulation of both short- and long-term investment strategies.
• Conducting market and industry research and associated analysis to inform strategy as well as
portfolio and new business decisions
• Leading in researching and analyzing key economic statistics and updates in Malawi.
• Conducting investment, money market and capital markets research and identify business
opportunities.
• Performing competitor analysis and feeding the results into the overall investment strategy
• Designing, developing and maintaining a comprehensive research database to support the
research function.
• Producing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual economic and financial market research reports.

Job Purpose

clients
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing (20%):
• Acquiring, growing and retaining clients for the bank thereby increasing market share.
• Selling and cross selling bank products to existing and potential clients
• Identifying new business opportunities from existing and potential clients
• Supporting the Business Development Manager in meeting sales and service targets
• Resolving client’s queries through a liaison role between the customer and all other internal
support divisions of the Bank.
Portfolio Management (40%):
• Managing private banking portfolio and with more accountability having an in depth
understanding of the clients’ needs.

proactively maintaining existing and potential relationships
Credit Underwriting and Risk Management (40%):
• Establishing cash credit limits of clients. Monitoring customers’ fund movement and identity
where they fall below criteria level
• Timely processing credit facilities for clients and notifying them of the fate of their facility
application.
• Preparing comprehensive credit proposals for new/prospective customers that adequately
address all relevant risk factors
• Advising private banking clients appropriate facilities they should access in line with their needs.
• Closely monitor the performance of facilities granted to clients in order to detect early signs of
delinquency and minimize default, excesses and provisions.
• Monitoring daily excesses limits to ensure that customer facilities are managed within the
parameters set by Credit.
