The World Bank has acknowledged Malaysia as among the top tenre<strong>for</strong>mers within the APEC region that made the most progresstoward the frontier in regulatory practices, and was cited <strong>for</strong>establishing the regulatory re<strong>for</strong>m committee at the inter-ministeriallevel. The World Bank also identified good practices from Malaysia asfollows:Offering cadastre in<strong>for</strong>mation online under Registering Property;Distributing data on loans below 1% <strong>of</strong> income per capita underGetting Credit;Defining clear duties <strong>for</strong> directors in case <strong>of</strong> related-partytransactions under Protecting Investors; andAllowing electronic filing <strong>of</strong> complaints under En<strong>for</strong>cing Contracts.Malaysia’s Per<strong>for</strong>mance in Doing Business 20135. In the recently released Doing Business Report by the World Bank,Malaysia improved its ranking to 12 th position among 185 countries in2013, moving up six notches from 18 th in 2012.
