THEATRE STUDIES Mikheil Kalandarishvili THEATRE POETICS OF CLASSICISM Summary In the letter there are examined main peculiarities of theatre poetics of classicism, which laid the foundation of the direction of development in France and in European countries caused the formation of new principles of Drama theory. Normative aesthetics of classicism demanded requirements to art. These considerations became obligatory rules and defined visuality of Dramatic art for a long time. ABOUT AUTHOR was born in 1952 july 11. In 1969 he finished the secondary school of Tbilisi, number 50, In 1974 he graduated from ShotaRustaveli Theatre and Film State University. He entered and enrolled on post-graduate school of Leningrad theatre, music and film institute. At the same year, in 1979 he maintained a thesis about Akhmeteli direction problems to receive a PhD degree. Since 1979 he has been a teacher and scientist. In 1993 he maintained a thesis to get a doctoral degree of art study, with the work “The basic directions of Georgian theatre”. He is author of eighty theatrical and historical c haracteristic scientific publications and also Russian and French theatrical encyclopedia letters’. Nowadays he is the complete professor of Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film in the direction of critics and theory. 190
