Expedition Overview Gambaran Ekspidisi
Expedition 10A was one of the largest Raleigh has run in Sabah in
recent years with 29 volunteer managers and 116 venturers from
around the world.
Between January and April, teams worked on a variety of projects
in the region, including building three gravity water feed systems,
working on the new Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre,
building a community kindergarten, developing infrastructure at
Imbak Canyon and constructing traditional accommodation for a
new rainforest reforestation project in the Kudat region of Borneo.
Participants came from a variety of social and cultural
backgrounds from all over the world, including the Netherlands,
Denmark, Ireland, Malaysia and the UK.
The expedition, supported by the Sabah Ministry of Youth and
Sport, started on Tuesday the 2nd of February and concluded
on Thursday, the 8th of April with an official ceremony including
traditional dancing and food.
Ekspedisi 10A merupakan salah satu ekspidisi yang terbesar
yang pernah dijalankan di Sabah. Ekspidisi ini terdiri daripada 29
pengurus sukarelawan dan 116 peserta sukarelawan dari seluruh
dunia.
Di antara Januari dan April, pasukan-pasukan Raleigh telah
berkerja untuk menyiapkan beberapa jenis projek di Sabah,
termasuk pembinaan tiga sistem air graviti, pembinaan Pusat
Konservasi Beruang Madu Borneo, pembinaan tadika komuniti,
pemajuan infrastruktur di Kanyon Imbak dan pembinaan rumah
tradisi untuk projek penghutanan semula di Kudat.
Peserta-peserta Raleigh Borneo 10A telah datang dari pelbagai
latar belakang sosial dan budaya di seluruh dunia, termasuk
negara Belanda, Denmark, Ireland, United Kingdom dan Malaysia.
Ekspidisi yang disokong oleh Kementerian Belia dan Sukan Sabah
ini dimulakan pada 2hb Februari dan diakhirkan pada 8hb April
dengan sebuah majlis penutupan yang diserikan dengan tarian
tradisional dan makanan bufet.
