The Relationship between the First and<br />

the Second language writing<br />

ABSTRACT<br />

The paper aims to consider the relationship between first and second language writing and main points<br />

appeared in second language writing process. It is emphasized the cognitive and metacognitive strate-<br />

gies either for the first or the second languages, language acquisition and discourse type. The research<br />

was fulfilled in different ways. First of all the students created essays on the both Georgian and Arme-<br />

nian languages, filled questionnaires and answered the questions during the interview. It is concluded<br />

that the transfer may be occurred in case of the both directions. So during the second language writing<br />

class all the above mentioned aspects must be considered.<br />

Age factors during the non native language acquisition<br />

The article dedicates to present the importance of the age factors in the process of acquisition in<br />

general, and particularly in the second language learning process. The paper presents as a<br />

considerable factor to study mother tongue properly as well as for the second language acquisition.<br />

In the article an attempt is made to study and analyze the age related researches on the basis of<br />

critical period hypothesis and other relevant variable. The article suggests several other significant<br />

circumstance that is inseparable from the age factor for second language learners. The key<br />

question of the subject is how age affects second language acquisition and do people of the same<br />

age group possess the same learning characteristics and abilities. It is generally believed that better<br />

outcomes during the second language acquisition is associated with the age of the learner, that<br />

means to select an optimal period for language acquisition. The article presents the evidence-based<br />

factors to support early-learners as well as criticism of the hypothesis. It is fundamental to cite<br />

how age factors work or function on second language acquisition, that affects on children either<br />

The article argues the necessity of learning the state language by the ethnic minorities and bilingual<br />

education as a important way for their integration in Georgia.The article also shows the comparison be-<br />

tween submersion program and the current bilingual programs. The purpose of the article is to describe<br />

problems and achievements in process of bilingual program implementation for an improvement quality<br />

of bilingual education. The objective of the research is to analyze the problems and challenges in the<br />

Bilingualism and state language: Approaches and Strategies<br />

ABSTRACT<br />

The paper presents modern approaches during the second language and state language teaching<br />

process, in particular, second language learning strategies. When the level of the second<br />

language possession is the same within young and elder members of family, it is advisable to<br />

divide language learners as a mixed group instead of age group, because in this case language<br />

acquisition is easier. Second language teaching process in the mixed/integrated group doesn’t<br />

exclude communication on the native language, but it is considered that, during the second language<br />

acquisition in the integrated groups (groups included parents and children) there are<br />

common terminology, grammatical models, common perceptions of the second language,<br />

where all the members of the family are involved in the learning process and remind each other<br />

vocabulary and expressions. They make a comparison and analyze of the second language<br />

grammatical and linguistic aspects, that makes learning process pleasant in overall.<br />
