DATO’ DR. MOHD SHAHARI AHMAD JABAR
Dato’ Dr. Mohd Shahari Ahmad Jabar, aged 66, a Malaysian, was appointed
to the Board of MRCB on 22 July 2002. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts from
the University of Malaya in 1960. He was awarded a Dutch Government
Fellowship in 1970 and obtained his Master’s in Social Science from the
International Institute of Social Studies, Hague, Holland in 1972. In 1974 he
was awarded the Fullbright-Hays Fellowship and obtained his Ph.D (Political
Science) from the University of Hawaii in 1978. In 1990, as a nominee of the
Government of Malaysia, he attended the Advanced Management Program
at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
Upon graduation in 1960, he was made an Assistant District Officer in the
District of Kuala Selangor and was transferred to the District of Kuala
Lumpur in 1963. He was then made Secretary of Public Services Commission,
Sarawak and Sabah from 1964 to 1966. In 1967, he was appointed as an
Assistant Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Department until 1968. He was
later appointed as Deputy Director of the Malaysian Centre for Development Studies from 1968 to 1970. Upon
completion of his Master, he became the Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of National Unity until 1974. In 1978, he
was appointed Director of the National Institute Of Public Administration on completion of his Ph.D and in 1984
to 1990 as Director of the Asian and Pacific Development Centre. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was the Deputy
Director-General of the Public Services Department.
As an Independent Non-executive Director, Dato’ Dr. Shahari is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee, a
member of the Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee of MRCB.
He is currently Chairman of MAJS Sdn Bhd, MAJS Management Centre Sdn Bhd, Ageless Quality Sdn Bhd,
Innoperk Sdn Bhd, Pulau Pelawan Sdn Bhd, Perkline Sdn Bhd, MBA Insurance Company Sdn Bhd and Grand
Brilliance Sdn Bhd. He is also Chairman of Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad, Amanah International Finance Sdn
Bhd and Amanah Ventures Sdn Bhd.
Dato’ Dr. Shahari is currently the Deputy Chairman of Allianz General Insurance Malaysia Berhad, a Director of
Amanah SSCM Asset Management Berhad, Amanah Property Trust Managers Berhad, Sistem Televisyen Malaysia
Berhad and Tiga Events Sdn Bhd.
Other than as disclosed, he does not have any family relationship with any Director and/or major shareholder of
MRCB. He has no personal interest in any business arrangement involving MRCB. He has had no conviction for any
offence within the past 10 years.

Dato’ Dr. Mohd Shahari Ahmad Jabar berusia 66 tahun, seorang warganegara Malaysia, telah dilantik sebagai ahli
Lembaga Pengarah MRCB pada 22 Julai 2002. Beliau memperolehi ijazah Sarjana Muda Sastera daripada Universiti
Malaya pada tahun 1960. Beliau juga telah menerima Fellowship Kerajaan Belanda pada tahun 1970 dan mendapat
Ijazah Sarjana Sains Kemasyarakatan daripada International Institute of Social Studies , Hague, Belanda pada tahun
1972. Selepas itu, pada tahun 1974, beliau telah mendapat Fellowship Fullbright-Hays serta memperolehi ijazah Ph.D
(Sains Politik) daripada University of Hawaii pada tahun 1978. Pada tahun 1990, beliau telah menghadiri Program
Pengurusan Lanjutan di Harvard Business School, Boston, Amerika Syarikat.
Selepas menamatkan pengajian pada tahun 1960, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Shahari telah dilantik sebagai Pegawai Daerah
Kuala Selangor dan selepas itu pada tahun 1963, beliau dipindahkan ke Daerah Kuala Lumpur. Kemudian beliau
dilantik sebagai Setiausaha Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam, Sarawak dan Sabah dari tahun 1964 hingga 1966.
Pada tahun 1967, beliau dilantik sebagai Penolong Setiausaha di Jabatan Perdana Menteri sehingga tahun 1968.
Kemudian beliau dilantik sebagai Timbalan Pengarah Pusat Kajian Pembangunan Malaysia dari tahun 1968 hingga
1970. Sebaik sahaja menamatkan ijazah Sarjana, beliau menjadi Timbalan Setiausaha Kementerian Kebajikan
Masyarakat sehingga tahun 1974. Sejurus selepas tamat Ph.D dalam tahun 1978, beliau dilantik sebagai Pengarah
Institut Pentadbiran Awam Nasional dan dari tahun 1984 hingga 1990 sebagai Pengarah Pusat Pembangunan Asia dan
Pasifik. Sebelum bersara pada tahun 1991, beliau dilantik sebagai Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Perkhidmatan
Awam.
Sebagai seorang Pengarah Bebas Bukan Eksekutif, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Shahari turut menjadi Pengerusi Jawatankuasa
Audit, ahli Jawatankuasa Ganjaran dan Jawatankuasa Pencalonan MRCB.
Kini, beliau menyandang jawatan sebagai Pengerusi MAJS Sdn Bhd, MAJS Management Centre Sdn Bhd, Ageless
Quality Sdn Bhd, Innoperk Sdn Bhd, Pulau Pelawan Sdn Bhd, Perkline Sdn Bhd, MBA Insurance Company Sdn Bhd,
dan Grand Brilliance Sdn Bhd. Beliau turut menjadi Pengerusi Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad, Amanah
International Finance Sdn Bhd dan Amanah Ventures Sdn Bhd.
Kini, Dato’ Dr. Shahari adalah Timbalan Pengerusi Allianz General Insurance Malaysia Berhad, Pengarah Amanah
SSCM Asset Management Berhad, Amanah Property Trust Managers Berhad, Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad dan
Tiga Events Sdn Bhd.
Selain daripada yang dinyatakan, beliau tidak mempunyai sebarang hubungan kekeluargaan dengan mana-mana
Pengarah dan/atau pemegang saham utama MRCB. Beliau tidak mempunyai kepentingan peribadi dalam sebarang
urusan perniagaan yang melibatkan MRCB. Beliau tidak pernah disabitkan dengan sebarang kesalahan dalam
tempoh 10 tahun lepas.
