DATO’ SERI SYED ANWAR JAMALULLAIL Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Jamalullail, aged 50, a Malaysian, was appointed as the Chairman of MRCB on 24 January 2002. He is an indirect substantial shareholder by virtue of his substantial shareholdings in Realmild (M) Sdn Bhd, which is a substantial shareholder of MRCB. He is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Accounting) from Macquarie University, Sydney and started his career as Financial Accountant with Malaysia Airlines System in 1975. He joined Price Waterhouse (Australia) as Senior Auditor in 1979 and three years later D&C Nomura Merchant Bank Berhad as Manager, Investment. In 1985, he joined Amanah Merchant Bank Berhad as Manager, Corporate Finance. Dato’ Seri pursued his own business from 1989 until October 1998 when he joined Amanah Capital Partners Berhad as its Group Managing Director. He resigned from Amanah Capital Partners Berhad on 1 March 2002. Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar also sits on the Boards of Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad, Amanah SSCM Asset Management Berhad, Bangkok Bank Berhad, Maxis Communication Berhad and various private companies. He is also the Chairman of Investment Panel of Tabung Haji. He was appointed as the Chairman of Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad on 24 January 2002. Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar is also a member of the Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee of MRCB. Other than as disclosed, he does not have any family relationship with any Director and/or major shareholder of MRCB. He has no personal interest in any business arrangement involving MRCB. Beliau adalah pemegang saham utama secara tidak langsung menerusi pegangannya dalam Realmild (M) Sdn Bhd yang merupakan pemegang saham utama dalam MRCB. Beliau adalah seorang Akauntan Bertauliah dan Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Australia. Beliau memiliki Ijazah Sarjana Muda Sastera (Perakaunan) daripada Macquarie University, Sydney dan memulakan kerjayanya sebagai Akauntan Kewangan di Malaysia Airlines System pada tahun 1975. Kemudian beliau menyertai Price Waterhouse (Australia) sebagai Juruaudit Kanan pada tahun 1979 dan tiga tahun selepas itu menyertai D&C Nomura Merchant Bank Berhad sebagai Pengurus, Pelaburan. Pada tahun 1985, beliau menyertai Amanah Merchant Bank Berhad sebagai Pengurus, Kewangan Korporat. Dato’ Seri menjalankan perniagaan sendiri dari tahun 1989 hingga Oktober 1998 apabila beliau menyertai Amanah Capital Partners Berhad sebagai Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan. Beliau meletak jawatan daripada Amanah Capital Partners Berhad pada 1 Mac 2002. DIRECTORS’ PROFILE | PROFIL PENGARAH 14 ABDUL RAHMAN AHMAD Abdul Rahman Ahmad, aged 34, a Malaysian, is the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of MRCB. He was appointed to the Board of MRCB on 9 August 2001. He holds a Master of Arts from Cambridge University, England and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England & Wales. Abdul Rahman was an Assistant Manager at Arthur Andersen, London from 1992 to 1996. From 1996 to 1999, he was the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Trenergy (M) Berhad/Turnaround Managers Inc (M) Sdn Bhd. He subsequently joined Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad as Unit Head from 1998 to 1999. Prior to his appointment at MRCB, he was an Executive Director of SSR Associates Sdn Bhd from 1999 to August 2001. Abdul Rahman also sits on the Boards of Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (TV3) and The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad. He is an Executive Director of TV3.
