Disamping tanah pertanian,
wilayah Kabupaten Poso sebagian besar
ditumbuhi hutan dengan vegetasi kayu-
kayuan diselingi dengan belukar yang
luasnya kurang lebih 514.234,20 Ha. Dan
selebihnya ditumbuhi padang rumput
berasosiasi dengan pohon-pohonan pada
tepi-tepi sungai.
Pada hutan produksi biasa dan
produksi terbatas serta fungsi hutan lainnya
banyak ditumbuhi jenis kayu dan hasil hutan
antara lain:
Kayu Agathis, Meranti dan Rotan
diwilayah Kecamatan Pamona Utara,
Lage, dan Lore Utara;
Kayu Hitam (Ebony, diwilayah
Kecamatan Poso Pesisir, Lage;
Damar diwilayah Kecamatan Lore
Utara, Pamona Utara dan Lage;
Kayu Mani, diwilayah Kecamatan Lore
Utara.
Disamping itu masih banyak
ditemukan berbagai jenis tumbuh-tumbuhan
berupa kayu-kayuan yang bemutu seperti;
Kemiri, Kenari, Rambutan, Kulahi, Melinjo,
Leci, Aren, Pakis Haji, yang merupakan
tumbuhan liar di hutan. Pada pesisir pantai
yang landai banyak ditumbuhi pohon-pohon
Bakau.

Geografi
In addition to agricultural land,
Poso Regency is mostly overgrown with
forests with woody vegetation interspersed
with groves with approximate area of more
or less 514.234,20 Ha. And the remaining
area is overgrown with meadows associated
with trees on the river banks.
In the common production forest
and limited production forest and other
forest functions is overgrown with timber
and forest products such as:
Agathis, Meranti and Rattan wood in
the area of North Pamona, Lage, and
North Lore Sub-districts;
Black wood (Ebony), in the area of
Coastal Poso, Lage Sub-district;
Resin wood in the area of North Lore,
North Pamona and Lage Sub-district;
Semen wood, in North Lore Sub-
district area.
Besides that, there are still many
different kinds of plants in the form of high
quality woods such as: Candlenut, Walnut,
Rambutan, Kulahi, Melinjo, Lychees, Sugar,
Pakis Haji which are wild plants in the
forest. At the sloping coast, there are many
Mangrove trees.
