adorned with <strong>the</strong>se and many o<strong>the</strong>r titles, <strong>the</strong> Ganga Hoysala pratapachakravartti<br />

vira-Somesvara-Deva, protect<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> region of <strong>the</strong> South, was<br />

rul<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> k<strong>in</strong>gdom: —<br />

A dweller at his lotus feet, (with praises) was <strong>the</strong> general Santa. (Here<br />

follows an account of his relatives, much defaced.) He repaired <strong>the</strong> ru<strong>in</strong>ed<br />

temple of Sant<strong>in</strong>atha. His wife was Bhogavve, and <strong>the</strong>ir sons were Kama and<br />

Sat a. The l<strong>in</strong>e of <strong>the</strong>ir gurus, of <strong>the</strong> sri-Mula-sangha, Desiya-gana, Pustakagachchha<br />

and Kondakundanvaya, was (with praises) Maghanandi-brati. His<br />

disciple was Bhanukirtti, whose disciple was Maghanandi-bhattaraka. His laydisciple<br />

was Sovarasa, whose son was Satanna. He rebuilt <strong>the</strong> J<strong>in</strong>a temple of<br />

Sant<strong>in</strong>atha <strong>in</strong> Manalakere, and placed on it a golden kalasa; praise of <strong>the</strong><br />

temple. And (on <strong>the</strong> date specified), made grants of land (specified) for <strong>the</strong><br />

J<strong>in</strong>a ceremonies and distribution of food. Usual f<strong>in</strong>al verses.<br />

Be it well. (On <strong>the</strong> date specified), Ramayya, <strong>the</strong> Srikarana-beggade of<br />

Konga-nad, hav<strong>in</strong>g built a tank named Ramasamudra, made a town named<br />

Ramapura, and set up <strong>the</strong> god Ramanatha. May this work of merit endure<br />

as long as sun moon and stars. Fortune.<br />

of RameSvara-svami hav<strong>in</strong>g gone to ru<strong>in</strong>, had it repaired. This work of<br />

merit he performed, to endure as long as sun moon and stars.<br />

Visvesvara of Varanasi,—<strong>the</strong> pratapa-chakravartti Hoysaja vlra-Narasimha-<br />

Devarasa made a grant of Hebhale <strong>in</strong> Kongu-nad as a kuttu-vitti (or small<br />

provision).<br />

Whoso of <strong>the</strong> nad officials or o<strong>the</strong>rs enters <strong>the</strong> place on <strong>the</strong> plea of forced<br />

labour or camp<strong>in</strong>g is false and will go to ru<strong>in</strong>.
