made a grant.<br />

(On <strong>the</strong> date specified) when was rul<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Ghanagiri:—Belur<br />

Venkatadri-Nayaka's grandson, Krishnappa-Nayaka's son, Venkatadn-Nayaka<br />

made a grant to certa<strong>in</strong> Bralimans (named) as follows. — The village of<br />

Basavanahalli <strong>in</strong> Arakalagodu-hobah of <strong>the</strong> Biluha-nad belong<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> Belursime,<br />

which was given (as <strong>in</strong> No. 4 above) to Yera-Krishnappa-Najaka, hav<strong>in</strong>g<br />

formed <strong>in</strong>to 6 shares, we have bestowed <strong>the</strong>m on <strong>the</strong> said Brahmans (named),<br />

with all rights and usual details. Righteous witnesses (as <strong>in</strong> No. 4 above).<br />

splitt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> skull of <strong>the</strong> lusty elephant Kal<strong>in</strong>ga, a wild-fire to <strong>the</strong> forest <strong>the</strong><br />

Sevuna k<strong>in</strong>g, Agastya to <strong>the</strong> ocean Malava, <strong>the</strong> uprooter of <strong>the</strong> Magara k<strong>in</strong>gdom,<br />

<strong>the</strong> setter up of <strong>the</strong> Chola k<strong>in</strong>gdom, a right-hand <strong>in</strong> sav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Pandya-kula,—<br />
