Date 1659 A. D.<br />

May it be prosperous. Be it well. (On <strong>the</strong> date specified), of <strong>the</strong> Kasyapagotra,<br />

Bayapa-NAyaka's (son) Krishnapa-Nayaka's (son) Venkatadri-Nayaka's<br />

grandson Lakshmappa-Nayaka's son Narasimha-Nayakarayya, <strong>in</strong> order that he<br />

might obta<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>crease of prosperity and all good fortune, had this pond built<br />

and gave it <strong>the</strong> name of Chandra-sarasu.<br />

Date 1692 A.D.<br />

Whoso seizes upon land or property given to Rama, his family will go to<br />

ru<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> three years; and he will receive punishment from Rama and <strong>the</strong> Raja.<br />

Be it well. (On <strong>the</strong> date specified), at <strong>the</strong> time of <strong>the</strong> moon's eclipse,—at<br />

<strong>the</strong> lotus feet of <strong>the</strong> god Pattabhi-Rama <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ner fort of Hole-Narasimhapura,—of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Kasyapa-g6tra, Apastamba-sutra and Yajus-sakha, Belur<br />

Krishnappa-Nayaka's grandson Venkatadri-Nayaka's son Krishnappa-Nayaka<br />

made a grant of land as follows: —<br />

In <strong>the</strong> Belur-sime which <strong>the</strong> rajadhiraja vira-Krishna-Deva-Rayarayya<br />

favoured to our grandfa<strong>the</strong>r's grandfa<strong>the</strong>r—S<strong>in</strong>dhu-Gov<strong>in</strong>da, champion over<br />

<strong>the</strong> cold-hearted, a Bhlma <strong>in</strong> war, boon lord of Man<strong>in</strong>agapura, seizor on <strong>the</strong><br />

seven-fold forces of <strong>the</strong> titled, —Krishnappa-Nayaka, <strong>the</strong> two villages of<br />

Palalugodu and Hondravalli of Arakalag6du hobali, have we given with<br />

pour<strong>in</strong>g of water at <strong>the</strong> lotus feet of <strong>the</strong> god Pattabhi-Rama.<br />

Date ? 1654 A.D.<br />

May it be prosperous. Be it well. (On <strong>the</strong> date specified), Krishnappa-<br />

Nayaka 1 s (son) Rangappa-Nayaka's (son) Narasimha-Nayaka, that he might<br />

obta<strong>in</strong> merit, caused this temple to be built, set up Garuda, and for <strong>the</strong> god<br />

Garuda<br />

presence of <strong>the</strong> god Narasimha, <strong>in</strong> order that merit might accrue to his fa<strong>the</strong>r
