Skilled <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g with both hands, <strong>the</strong> emperor of mnemonic feats (avadhdnd),<br />

<strong>the</strong> accountant Visvanatha-deva wrote it (barada). The royal draughtsman<br />

(rdya-stitradhdn) Gopdja's younger bro<strong>the</strong>r Suroja engraved it (kandahsida).<br />

Praise of Sambhu.<br />

Be it well. When, (with usual Chalukya titles), Tribhuvanamalla-Deva's<br />

victorious k<strong>in</strong>gdom was extend<strong>in</strong>g on all sides, to cont<strong>in</strong>ue as long as sun moon<br />

and stais: —<br />

Be it well. When, (with titles as <strong>in</strong> No. 119 above), Vishnuvarddhana-<br />

Deva was rul<strong>in</strong>g (as <strong>in</strong> No. 119 above) — Praise of his valour. Obeisance to Siva<br />

Be it well. When, sharer <strong>in</strong> a hundred thousand delights, <strong>the</strong> fruit of<br />

supremo good fortune, equal to a second Lakshmi, <strong>the</strong> patta-mahadevi was<br />

rul<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Asandi Five Hundred and <strong>the</strong> [? Nijrgunda Three Hundred <strong>in</strong> peace<br />

and wisdom: —<br />

And, a dweller at her lotus feet,—Be it well. When, (with various epi<strong>the</strong>ts,<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g) his fa<strong>the</strong>r's lion, — with <strong>the</strong>se and all o<strong>the</strong>r titles, <strong>the</strong> great<br />

feudatory, <strong>the</strong> ndl-prabhu Eraka-Gavunda was rul<strong>in</strong>g Kisur and Haruvanahalli,<br />

with enjoyment for three generations: — (on <strong>the</strong> date specified), he set up <strong>the</strong><br />

god Erakesvara, and wash<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> feet of Me'ganagere Devendra-pandita's<br />

disciple, hav<strong>in</strong>g all <strong>the</strong> usual ascetic virtues, Somesvara-deva, made a grant<br />

for <strong>the</strong> decorations and offer<strong>in</strong>gs of <strong>the</strong> god, for gifts of food to <strong>the</strong> ascetics of<br />

<strong>the</strong> matha, to guests and students, for temple repairs, and for festivals<br />

Three o<strong>the</strong>r gavundas (named), wash<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> feet of Rudrasakti-pandita,<br />

worshipper of <strong>the</strong> feet of <strong>the</strong> Mulasthana god, made grants for <strong>the</strong> same purpose.<br />

Tleie follow details of <strong>the</strong> grants made by all four Usual f<strong>in</strong>al verses.<br />

Bo it well. In <strong>the</strong> reign of (with usual titles) Vishnuvarddhana-Hoysala-<br />

Deva's (son) Naras<strong>in</strong>ga-Deva: — Rajaka killed Bittaya's mistress (sile) <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Tondanur camp, and went to <strong>the</strong> world of gods. Maleyala Babeya-Nayaka's<br />

son Barameya-Nayaka set up this memorial of his death.<br />
