of Tnbhuvana, and <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> presence of <strong>the</strong> Kampanaclwiryya of <strong>the</strong> 120 temple<br />

priests and of numberless maha-ganangalu, and <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> presence of all <strong>the</strong><br />

subjects, farmers and priests of <strong>the</strong> two Muttana-Hosavur.<br />

And that raja-guru Rudrasakti-deva, <strong>the</strong> 120 temple priests, and Mada-Jiya<br />

of Arasiyakere, <strong>the</strong> Kampanachari capital (rdjadhdm), with o<strong>the</strong>r jiyas (named),<br />

and numberless mahd-ganangalu, unit<strong>in</strong>g, bound upon that Chandavve <strong>the</strong><br />

vibhfttt-patta or crown of authority, and giv<strong>in</strong>g her <strong>the</strong> rank or place of a<br />

Gana-kuman " granted to her <strong>the</strong> matha dues and all <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r dues payable<br />

to this Kuiijesvara temple, free of all imposts, to cont<strong>in</strong>ue as long as sun,<br />

moon and sky.<br />

Praise of Sambhu. As long as <strong>the</strong> mounta<strong>in</strong> of <strong>the</strong> gods exists, as long as<br />

<strong>the</strong> elephants at <strong>the</strong> po<strong>in</strong>ts of <strong>the</strong> compass, as long as sun and moon, as long<br />

as <strong>the</strong> ocean, <strong>the</strong> vedas, and <strong>the</strong> oarth exist, — may <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>carnation Hanhara<br />

grant protection to <strong>the</strong> lord Kandanambi. May Smyalva, Basavayya, . ,<br />

Bclna, Chola, Udhhata, Smda-Ballala, and Dasimayya,— may this group of<br />

devotees grant to <strong>the</strong>e, Kakara-Kandanambi, <strong>the</strong> highest wisdom. He erected<br />

temples, raised pillars for lights (dipamah), granted lands to Brahmans till<br />

<strong>the</strong>y wore satisfied, constructed f<strong>in</strong>e forts and large tanks, — so that Kakara-<br />

Kandi was praised throughout <strong>the</strong> world for his works of merit.<br />

When <strong>the</strong> pratapa-chakravartti Hoysana vira-Narasimha-Devarasa was <strong>in</strong>.<br />

<strong>the</strong> residence of Dorasamudra, rul<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> k<strong>in</strong>gdom of <strong>the</strong> catth <strong>in</strong> peace and<br />

wisdom* — (on <strong>the</strong> date specified), <strong>the</strong> great senior merchant, <strong>the</strong> senior<br />

Bhand<strong>in</strong>ambi-Setti's son-<strong>in</strong>-law Kandanambi-Setti, on mak<strong>in</strong>g Muttana-Hosavftr<br />

an agrahara,— for <strong>the</strong> offer<strong>in</strong>gs of <strong>the</strong> god Kuiijesvara, provid<strong>in</strong>g dresses for<br />

<strong>the</strong> god, and remov<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> tenants, — for <strong>the</strong> offer<strong>in</strong>gs and ceremonies of <strong>the</strong><br />

god made a grant of Kalleyanayakanahalli, free of all imposts, and also<br />

certa<strong>in</strong> land <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> two Muttana-HosaYUT. (Here follow long details of <strong>the</strong><br />

land). And a number of Gauflas (named) and o<strong>the</strong>rs also made grants of<br />

land (specified).<br />

The ceremonies, whatever <strong>the</strong>y may be, for which <strong>the</strong>se lands were given,<br />

Chandavve will herself cause to bo carried out.<br />

And Kandanarabi-Setti granted a rent-free estate for Soviyakka.<br />
