Ketayyanna was govern<strong>in</strong>g Desavani;— <strong>the</strong> prabhus of Desavani <strong>in</strong> Nirugunda.<br />

nad were Malla-avunda, Madi-gavunda, and heggade Muddaya (<strong>the</strong>ir praises).<br />

Their guru Lakula-Sabadeva's son Gangarasi-pandita's spiritual son Tribhuvana-Sakti-pandita's<br />

younger bro<strong>the</strong>r was Vama-Jiya (his praise).<br />

When that great ascetic and his five sons, <strong>the</strong> eldest of whom was<br />

Vamasakti-pandita, were <strong>in</strong> peace, — (on <strong>the</strong> date specified) at <strong>the</strong> time of <strong>the</strong><br />

eclipse of <strong>the</strong> moon, Jaitu-vaidya, <strong>the</strong> fifty householdeis of <strong>the</strong> village, and <strong>the</strong><br />

chief ? farmers, wash<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> feet of Vama-Jiya, made a grant of land (specified;<br />

Praise of sambhu. Praises of k<strong>in</strong>g Vishnu, who from Hima to Setu, and<br />

aga<strong>in</strong> from Setu to Hima, subdued all <strong>the</strong> Kshatnyas <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sports of his valour.<br />

When (with usual titles), death to <strong>the</strong> proud Ch6la feudatory, a lance to<br />

<strong>the</strong> head of.. . , a lion to <strong>the</strong> elephant-herd Chera, a Bhairava of <strong>the</strong> f<strong>in</strong>al<br />

deluge to <strong>the</strong> family of <strong>the</strong> Pandya k<strong>in</strong>g, plunderer of <strong>the</strong> Chola army (or<br />

capital), — with <strong>the</strong>se and all o<strong>the</strong>r titles, <strong>the</strong> maha-mandalesvara, capturer of<br />

Kanchi, Vikrama-Ganga, Vishnuvarddhana-Hoysana-Deva, unit<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Gangavadi<br />

N<strong>in</strong>ety-six Thousand, <strong>the</strong> Banavase Twelve Thousaud, <strong>the</strong> Palasige Twelve<br />

Thousand and <strong>the</strong> two Six Hundreds under <strong>the</strong> shadow of his sole umbrella,<br />

was rul<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> k<strong>in</strong>gdom, be<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> his own capital Bankapura:—<br />

Dwellers at his lotus feet, were Chandahaia-Jetti and o<strong>the</strong>r Jettis (named);<br />

and when <strong>the</strong> three sons born to Deva-Jetti, were, by <strong>the</strong> favour of Vishnuvarddhana-Deva,<br />

govern<strong>in</strong>g this Undigeyahalu and Balavarivanahalli, Muni-<br />

Jetti erected this temple (? of Krishna). Its praises And'<strong>in</strong> order that his<br />

mo<strong>the</strong>r and fa<strong>the</strong>r might obta<strong>in</strong>^ment, he made a grant foi <strong>the</strong> god, wash<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>the</strong> feet of Mallikarjuna-paridita of Nidugatta, (on <strong>the</strong> date specified).<br />

Praise of Sanibhu. (On <strong>the</strong> date specified) <strong>the</strong> planta<strong>in</strong> garden of 25<br />

kamba, belong<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> gaudike of Chandra-Gauda, which he had formerly<br />

sold to certa<strong>in</strong> Jettis (named), at 3 gadyana per kamba, for 75 gadyana,—<br />

Chavude-Jiya and Nanne-Jetti bought, and giv<strong>in</strong>g to Chavuda-gauda 1 gadyana<br />

5 hana that he might defray all taxes that might ensue, granted <strong>the</strong> garden,<br />

free of all imposts, for <strong>the</strong> goddess Nimbaja. Praise of <strong>the</strong> donors<br />
