When (with usual titles) Hoysala vira-Ballala-Deva was <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> residence<br />

of Vijayasamudra, rul<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> k<strong>in</strong>gdom of <strong>the</strong> earth <strong>in</strong> peace and wisdom. —<br />

on <strong>the</strong> bank of <strong>the</strong> (goddess) Tungabhadra, ho remitted for <strong>the</strong> goddesses<br />

Mahalakshmi and Mahakali and <strong>the</strong> god Bhutanatha, <strong>the</strong> fixed rent of<br />

Gaddumbalh, forage for elephants, forage for horses, giv<strong>in</strong>g of food, tak<strong>in</strong>g<br />

carts by force, poll tax, f<strong>in</strong>es for (?) smells <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> fort, for cattle pound, or<br />

for breach of rules, tribute for <strong>the</strong> (?) pr<strong>in</strong>ce, customs-dues on areca-nut, tribute<br />

to <strong>the</strong> Mayse-nad-heggade, toge<strong>the</strong>r with all new imposts that may arise And<br />

for <strong>the</strong> service of <strong>the</strong> goddess Mahalakshmi, made a grant of <strong>the</strong> village of<br />

Jagaravalli. (Usual imprecations)<br />

When (with usual titles) Vira-Gaiiga Vishnu-bhupalaka was <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital<br />

Dorasumudra, rul<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> k<strong>in</strong>gdom <strong>in</strong> peace and wisdom -(with various<br />

epi<strong>the</strong>ts) <strong>the</strong> great senior merchant Kullahana-Rahuta and his wife Sahaja-<br />

Devi caused <strong>the</strong> new Kollapura to be built, and for Malloja and Manijoja,<br />

who built <strong>the</strong> temple of <strong>the</strong> goddess Mahalakshmi, as if a creation by Visvakarmma,<br />

(on <strong>the</strong> date specified) made a grant of land (specified). Ends with<br />

apparently some verse from a book for sculptors (Griha-vastu)<br />

The sons (named), relatives and heirs of Raya-bhatta, acharyya of <strong>the</strong> new<br />

Kollapura, which is Gaddumbalh, bought from Perumali-Deva's matha at <strong>the</strong><br />

full price an areca garden conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 800 trees. And of <strong>the</strong>se, 400 troes were<br />

given for <strong>the</strong> share of acharyya Appaya Witnesses. And Appayya's son<br />

bought some o<strong>the</strong>r land (specified) from <strong>the</strong> same Perumah-Deva
