his fa<strong>the</strong>r-<strong>in</strong>-law <strong>the</strong> Savasi official Chhuja-Bhatayya-Nayaka of <strong>the</strong><br />

Vaitanasa-gotra; his bro<strong>the</strong>r-<strong>in</strong>-law, <strong>the</strong> great m<strong>in</strong>ister Mildhavayya-Dannayaka;<br />

his mo<strong>the</strong>r-<strong>in</strong>-law Abhave.<br />

Be it well. — The Savasi official, great master of <strong>the</strong> robes, chief favourite,<br />

a wish<strong>in</strong>g tree to his dependants, bath<strong>in</strong>g and. sacrific<strong>in</strong>g at dawn and<br />

observ<strong>in</strong>g both ekadasis, worshipper of <strong>the</strong> feet of Brahmans and gurus,<br />

worshipper of <strong>the</strong> div<strong>in</strong>e lotus-feet of <strong>the</strong> god Jaitanatha, — Jaya-Bhattayya-<br />

Nayaka, hav<strong>in</strong>g set up <strong>the</strong> god Jaita-Narayana (on <strong>the</strong> date specified) at <strong>the</strong><br />

time of <strong>the</strong> moon's eclipse, <strong>the</strong> great emperor vira-Ballala-Deva made to him<br />

a grant of 40 gadyana and Anehalh for that god. This pma and that<br />

Anehalh were granted free of all taxes as long as sun and moon endure.<br />

The Brahmans of Heragu hav<strong>in</strong>g made ten houses <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> god Jaita-<br />

Naray ana's pura, will receive 10 hon <strong>in</strong> Anehalh. Beyond this <strong>the</strong> Brahmans<br />

have no claim <strong>in</strong> ei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> halli or <strong>the</strong> pura. All <strong>the</strong> produce is for <strong>the</strong><br />

service of <strong>the</strong> god. The eight rights of full possession are vested <strong>in</strong> Jai-<br />

Bhattayya-Nayaka and his posterity as long as sun and moon endure.<br />

eyes, S6ma (<strong>the</strong> Moon), from Sdma, Budha; from Budha, Pururava; from<br />

Pururava, Ayu; from Ayu, Nahusha; from Nahusha, Yayati; from Yayati,<br />

Yadu sprang, After him <strong>the</strong> Soma-vamia itself came to be reckoned as <strong>the</strong><br />

Yadu-vamsa.<br />

In <strong>the</strong> Yadava-variisa, among <strong>the</strong> k<strong>in</strong>gs of Dvaravati, who was <strong>the</strong> one<br />

most celebrated? In that Yadu-vamsa a k<strong>in</strong>g named Sala was hunt<strong>in</strong>g along
