FoT Lilongwe for ungraded farmer stock – a previously unheard-of price level
for Malawian producers.
4.5 Asian countries
The main buyers of groundnut in Asia include Indonesia, the Philippines,
Malaysia and Japan. Normally these countries buy the bulk of their product
from China, but as of last year – with Chinese groundnut sold at relatively high
prices – Asian buyers sought alternatives from Indian, South African and
Vietnamese origins.
