My Lord
The joy I conceived att the reception of your Excellencies last kind letter is not to
be expressed, and am surprised that your Excellency will honour with a remembrance
15 in terms that cares so much candor, and I merit not the least of that goodness, which
goodness alone is capable of making me forgett all past sorrow; And it is also true as
your Lordship writes that my grief is turned to joy for which mercy I cannot sufficiently
return my thanks to Heaven, in raising me when I was sinking in the deepest affliction,
which I cannot remember without tears, butt God has provided wonderfully for me, and
20 Holy is his Name, my tongue shall always speak of thanksgiving and praise and also that
he has given me a worthy honest man for a husband who loves and respects me with all
his relations more then I could expect.
I from the bottom of my soul condole with your Excellency for the loss of the most
illustrious Ellectoress her death has drawn many a tear from my eyes, the I shall for ever
25 honour her memory then she vouchsafed to condescent soe far when I was att Hannover
as to talk with me and to bless me with her goodly rays, and this is printed deeply in
my heart, and think that God should lett such Piety and vertue live for ever, soe that
all the world might see themselves in such a mirror and mend their lives. I also condole
with your Excellency for the loss of the Duke of Wolffenbütel, and wish that God may
30 for the future preserve your Lordship not to be partaken of such melanchoely news, and
