I have already acknowledged the great honor of your letter of the 28 April 1714 n.s.<br />

from Vienna, but as I told you then, I did not pretend to have answer’d it fully til I had<br />

procur’d the resolution of the R. Society about it, which I send you here inclos’d together<br />

with a copy of a letter from D r Keill, and a little book, writ by that gentleman relating<br />

10 to the differencey between S r Isaac Newton and you S r of which I am forced to say: Non<br />

nostrum est tantas componere lites, and therefore humbly desiring you to accept of my<br />

good will in that affaire, subscribe myself with the utmost passion and truth Honor’d S r<br />

innotuerat (?) mihi Nobilissimus Windovius vester cum Tuae gratissimae accessere quas<br />

ipsi debeo. [ - ] gaudeo, de Te saltem quod valeas didicisse. Optime apparet usum tempore<br />

20 suo in itineribus, quod nec Viennae male collocabit; Tuamque et suorum spem facile<br />

implebit. Gaudeo ex ipso intelligere qui agas, nam Tu ipse hoc quod scire magnopere volo,<br />

semper opto in eum rejecisse videris, quamquam et praeclarus vir Johannes Christophorus<br />

Wolfius judicarit, nihil mihi gratius Tuis progressibus nuntiari posse.<br />

Venit in mentem guaerere nihil ne Tibi qui Apocrypha N. T. peculiari cura tractasti,<br />

25 compertum de Barnabae Evangelio. Serenissimus Princeps Sabaudiae Eugenius habet<br />

codicem lingua italica, mau non recentissima hoc titulo scriptum. Quod superest vale et<br />

fave.<br />
