La compétition est le point d’ancrage du Bol d’Or
Mirabaud et a fait son succès, et sa renommée, sur la
scène de la voile internationale depuis 1939. Mais cette
année, nous avons voulu nous ouvrir davantage à un
large public afin de faire découvrir et partager notre
passion de la voile et du lac Léman à chacun. Ainsi,
pour la première fois de son histoire, le Bol d’Or va
sortir de l’enceinte de la Société Nautique de Genève
pour venir s’installer sur l’Esplanade du Port-Noir.
Un nouveau concept de village de course sera ouvert à
tous les curieux désireux de vivre en direct l’épopée de
cette légendaire course lémanique qui a su intéresser les
meilleurs marins du monde.
Comme innover fait partie de notre renommée,
la course va elle aussi avoir son lot de nouveautés.
Soucieux que cette régate ouverte à tous continue à être
attractive et un événement incontournable du calendrier
des régates internationales, nous avons créé deux
nouveaux trophées. Le Bol de Basalte récompensera
le premier multicoque qui passera la ligne d’arrivée en
temps réel, tandis que le Bol de Carbone marquera la
victoire du premier foiler, toujours en temps réel. Nous
espérons ainsi motiver les participants et garder l’intérêt
de la course pour toutes les catégories de concurrents.
À chacun de trouver sa place dans ce festival lémanique !
Que la compétition, le sport, la performance et
l’esprit d’équipe puissent résonner avec les concerts,
les animations et la fête du lac au Port Noir ! Bon Bol
d’Or Mirabaud à tous, que les meilleurs gagnent et
surtout qu’Éole nous fasse le plaisir de venir honorer ce
week-end tant attendu par tous. Je me réjouis de vous
retrouver sur l’eau parmi les quelque 500 bateaux qui
prendront le départ.
The 85 th Bol d’Or Mirabaud will be faithful to the
event’s 86-year history, with the focus on innovating,
challenging, inventing, surprising, winning and
making the regatta the high point of the Swiss sailing
season. The race is the bedrock of the Bol d’Or
Mirabaud weekend and has made it a successful event
on the international sailing scene since 1939. This
year, however, we want to open ourselves up to a wider
audience and invite everyone to discover and share
our passion for sailing and Lake Geneva. And so,
for the first time in its history, the Bol d’Or is leaving
the confines of the Société Nautique de Genève to
take up residence at the Esplanade du Port-Noir.
We have built our reputation on our willingness
to innovate, which is why this year’s race will also
see a number of changes. In our desire to maintain
the appeal of a regatta that is open to everyone and
safeguard its status as one of the highlights of the
international sailing calendar, we have created two
new trophies. The Bol de Basalte will be awarded
to the first multihull to cross the finish line in real
time, while the Bol de Carbone will go to the first
foiler over the line, also in real time. We hope these
new trophies will serve to motivate participants
and maintain interest across every class.
Everyone has a place at this celebration of Lake Geneva
sailing, a festival where racing, sport, performance and
team spirit go hand in hand with concerts, attractions
and a party atmosphere down at Port Noir. Happy Bol
d’Or Mirabaud, everyone! May the best crews win and
may the wind finally blow on a weekend that is eagerly
awaited by everyone. Along the 500 boats or so taking
part, I look forward to seeing you out on the water.
