SOCIÉTÉ NAUTIQUE DE GENÈVE UN SOUTIEN PRÉCIEUX DE LA VILLE Tous ces changements n’auraient par ailleurs pas pu avoir lieu sans le précieux soutien de la Ville de Genève qui a accepté de mettre à disposition de la Société Nautique de Genève toute la zone permettant d’installer le village. «Il y a toujours eu un attachement genevois au Bol d’Or Mirabaud, appuie Marie Barbey-Chappuis, conseillère administrative de la Ville de Genève. Dès que les organisateurs nous ont approchés pour présenter leur projet, nous avons été particulièrement enthousiasmés et ravis de renforcer notre collaboration avec eux. À Genève, il y a en effet un véritable appétit pour le sport, et cela fait partie du programme de cette magistrature de transformer la ville en une "salle de sport à ciel ouvert", en amenant le sport dans l’espace public plutôt que de le maintenir à l’intérieur de nos infrastructures.» L’élue espère par ailleurs que cette nouvelle formule sera couronnée de succès. «Nous souhaitons vivement qu’un maximum de monde puisse venir découvrir ou renouveler son expérience du Bol d’Or. Nous apprécions dès lors de pouvoir faciliter l’accès au monde de la voile, ainsi que sa visibilité, par la mise à disposition de ce territoire extraordinaire qu’est la rade de Genève, afin d’y tenir une magnifique fête.» Si l’attente du retour des équipages partis le samedi matin depuis la Nautique peut souvent s’avérer très longue, comme l’ont démontré les récentes éditions de la régate, le comité d’organisation veut s’assurer que cette attente soit aussi captivante et confortable que possible. «Même si le Bol d’Or Mirabaud est déjà une véritable institution depuis plus de 80 ans, il cherche encore à mieux se faire connaître par les personnes qui ne l’ont jusqu’ici suivi que de loin, concluent les membres du comité d’organisation. Nous souhaitons qu’elles puissent pleinement vivre l’expérience.» 33
