L’eau incarne le cours de l’existence, sa source,
son flux, ses fluctuations aussi. Dans l’imaginaire
collectif, l’eau réveille le lien originel à soi-même,
mais aussi aux autres. L’eau est la figure de la
création, qu’il s’agisse de liens ou de richesse.
L’eau, emblème et métaphore du Groupe
Mirabaud – dont l’ancêtre Jean Mirabaud nait en
1706 dans le village d’Aigues-Vives d’où s’écoule
une source abondante –, marque l’infinité des
possibles, la régénérescence permanente.
Les traces des liens entre la famille Mirabaud et la
Société Nautique de Genève (SNG) remontent à juin
1882, année des premières régates organisées par
la SNG. En 1888, une photographie archivée au
chantier naval de Corsier Port a capté le splendide
voilier de compétition appartenant à Ivan Mirabaud.
C’est sur ce 7 tonneaux baptisé le Squaw, sans doute
pour faire écho aux cercles de voile de l’époque
qui se dotent de noms inspirés de la conquête
de l’Ouest, que l’Associé de la banque familiale
prend le départ d’une course cette année-là.
Aujourd’hui, le Groupe est fier d’entrer dans sa
20 e année de partenariat du Bol d’Or Mirabaud.
Tout comme en 1882, l’événement est sportif
autant que festif, et nous nous réjouissons de
vous retrouver nombreux dans le tout nouveau
village au Port-Noir. Que la fête du lac 2024
soit belle et la course passionnante !
Water embodies the course of existence, its source,
its flow, and also its fluctuations. In the collective
imagination, water awakens the original link to
oneself, but also to others. Water is the symbol of
creation, whether in terms of relationships or wealth.
Water, the emblem and metaphor of the Mirabaud
Group – whose ancestor Jean Mirabaud was
born in 1706 in the village of Aigues-Vives from
which flows an abundant source – marks infinite
possibilities and permanent regeneration.
Records of the links between the Mirabaud family
and the Société Nautique de Genève (SNG) date
back to June 1882, the year of the first regattas
organised by the Genevan yachting club. In 1888,
a photograph archived at the Corsier Port shipyard
captured the splendid competition yacht belonging
to Ivan Mirabaud. It was on this 7-barrel, christened
the Squaw, no doubt to echo the sailing circles of the
time which adopted names inspired by the conquest
of the West, that the Managing Partner of the family
bank took part in a race at the SNG that year.
Today, the Group is proud to enter its 20 th year as
a partner of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. As in 1882,
the event is as much a sporting event as it is a fun
and social one, and we look forward to seeing many
of you in the brand-new village at the Port-Noir.
