We have 22 production lines, which allow us a wide range of options :
Special cut-outs : creation of your own customised cut-out shape
Large width : up to 530 mm width
All types of adhesives : removable, permanent, hotmelt, double/double, strong adhesive, etc.
Printing on all substrates : special coatings, synthetic films (polypropylene, polyethylene...),
metallic papers, fluorescent vellum...
Finishing : printing on the back, printing on glassine (backing), vitrophanie, varnish, adhesive
neutralization, printing on adhesive, perforations, detection spots..
There are no limits to the specifications : printing techniques,
materials, adhesives, dimensions, printers used, the conditions under
which you work or in which your labelled products evolve.
If you wish, we also store these special products in order
to help you with your logistics. We already do this for many customers,
especially if they need to use our products on several locations.
We work with you to find a suitable solution for your needs, thanks to our
machine park for coated labels.
We are specialized in the production of variable data labels,
combining data integrity security and highest print quality.

GLOSSARY
Removable adhesive : A pressure sensitive adhesive characterized by low ultimate adhesion and clean
removability from a wide variety of surfaces
Hot Melt adhesives : Thermoplastic materials with 100% solids that liquefy when heated and resolidify on
cooling to form a bond with the face sheet. It is a pressure sensitive lamination which includes a release
coated backing sheet.
Machine Direction : The direction of travel of the labels (web) emanating from the printer.
Backing : The carrier sheet of material, as opposed to the face material, in a pressure sensitive
lamination. It always has a release coating applied so that the adhesive will not stick permanently to the backing. Also
known as the release liner.
Perforated edge : Small cuts made along the edges of the paper which allow the sprocket holes to be torn off the printed
page. Sprocket holes : the holes at each side of the web used to drive the web through the dot matrix printing process
Good for printing : Acceptance letter signed by the customer proving his agreement for printing. The BAT releases the
printer from any liability in the event of an error observed after printing
Coating : surface treatment which generally consists of applying a liquid coating (lacquer, paint, oil, etc.) to a substrate
(paper, textile, plastic film, metal, etc.).
Matrix stripping : Removing the die-cut ‘skeleton’ of material which surrounds the labels after printing
Adhesive bleeding: adhesive overflow from the edges of the label
Face stock : A paper, film, foil or any other material which is bonded to the adhesive layer and forms the functional part
of the label construction. The top layer of a pressure sensitive laminate consists of the label, adhesive, and backing or
release liner.
Width : The dimension across the direction of the liner
Core : A paper, plastic or metal tube on which paper, film, or foil labels are wound for shipment.
Gripper socket: non-printable strip located around the edge of the sheet, it is shown in red on the diagrams in this
catalogue.
Back-split : cut out made on the backing of a sheet to facilitate the separation of the labels from the silicone backing
Front-split : cut out made on the front of a sheet
Winding direction: it indicates the position of the labels, i.e. facing inward toward the core or outward away from the
core
Direction for the exit : it indicates the direction of the labels on the web, information to be provided
Tack : The property of a pressure sensitive label which causes it to adhere to a surface instantly with a minimum of
pressure and contact time. It is the feeling of stickiness obtained when the surface of an adhesive is touched or when a
label is applied to a surface and quickly pulled away.
Thermal Transfer : A material that requires a thermal transfer ribbon for printing. Heat is applied to the ribbon which
transfers the ink onto the labels. Ideal for products that need more temperature resistance and a longer shelf life than a
standard direct thermal roduct.
Direct Thermal : A material that does not require a ribbon for printing. Heat is applied directly to the label, and a
chemical reaction on the face stock causes the label to darken where heat is applied.
Fan fold labels : Pressure sensitive labels are produced in several finished forms.
Fan-fold labels are carried on a continuous backing sheet that is perforated
and folded back and forth along the perforations. These labels are
usually supplied in dispensers so that a section of the backing
sheet can be pulled out of the box or container, torn
along one of the perforations, and the label or
labels on that section can be removed from
the backing sheet and applied as required.
Fan-fold labels are most commonly
used for pre-printed labels or for
handwritten labels, although
they may also be produced
with holes along the
edges of the backing
sheet and used
in sprocket fed
printers.
Storage guidance
Adhesive labels have a performance related to the quality
of the storage :
Ideal storage conditions : 18°C to 25°C
and 50% relative humidity to avoid curling
Store unused labels in sealed packaging
Protect from direct sunlight
The rolls should be laid flat
