FOR THE TOUR DE LA GUADELOUPE
Comme les précédentes années, Air Antilles a soutenu le Tour cycliste international de la
Guadeloupe. Cette 71e édition était marquée notamment par l’organisation
d’une course féminine inédite.
As in previous years, Air Antilles sponsored the Tour de la Guadeloupe bicycle race.
The 71st edition of this international event included its first-ever race for women.
Pour cette 71ème édition du Tour cycliste, Air Antilles a permis
à des sportives venues de différents pays de la Caraïbe de
participer à une course féminine qu’elle parrainait. Le Tour
féminin s’est tenu du 27 au 31 juillet. C’est Pascaline Duchene
de la Sélection nationale de la Défense qui a remporté cette
belle édition.
Par ailleurs la 6ème étape du 71e Tour était placée sous le
patronage de la compagnie. Elle s’est tenue le mercredi 10 août
et a relié Capesterre à Gourbeyre sur 148 km. Une étape
redoutée et rude en dénivelés qui a vu la victoire de Florian
Rapiteau de l’équipe Laval Cyclisme. Alexys Brunel de l’USL
a récupéré la tunique Or.
Le podium final de cette édition a réuni Stefan Bennett
d’Eurocyclingtrips pro (vainqueur du Tour), Tom Donnenwirth
de l’UVMG (2e du classement général) et Célestin Guillon de
Laval cycling 53 (3e du classement).
For the 71st edition of The International Cycling Tour of
Guadeloupe, Air Antilles helped racers from various Caribbean
countries to participate in an all-women’s race sponsored by the
airline. This new feminine challenge took place on July 27-31,
with Pascaline Duchene from the National Selection of La
Defense racing to victory.
In addition, the 6th stage of the 71st Tour was also sponsored by
the airline. This leg of the race took place on Wednesday, August
10, with a 148 km itinerary between Capesterre and Gourbeyre.
This imposing course, with its steep vertical elevations, was won
by Florian Rapiteau of Laval Cyclisme 53. Alexys Brunel of US
Lamentin became the daily leader of the Tour, picking up the
yellow jersey.
The final podium for this edition of the race included winner
Stefan Bennett of EuroCyclingTrips Pro, Tom Donnenwirth of
UVMG in second place, and Célestin Guillon of Laval Cycling
53 placing third.
