Competition
The SIRAR organises an annual competition
reserved for the directors of short movies, and
the composers of a first film score. The two
selection committees (1 for the scenario, 1 for
the film score) meet once a year on the same
date. The prizes and the first public showing of
the winning film of the last competition take
place at the Aubagne International Film Festival.
Conditions
Films shot in 35mm, 16mm and video are
admissible. Authors can only submit one project
(an original scenario for a short movie). The short
movie must be shot in the Provence-Alpes-Côte
d’Azur region, and more specifically in the
environs of Aubagne. The technical team in
charge of shooting and post-production is staffed
by the students of the Satis Department.
Simultaneously, a competition reserved for
composers of a first film score intended for the
winning film is organised. The music must be
recorded with the musicians of Cefedem-Sud.
Funding
This competition is funded by the Municipality
which provides a grant of 10,700 euros for
shooting the film to which is added broadcasting
rights from France 5. The amount of aid is
managed by GREC, in partnership with the film
director. The winning composer receives a grant
of 1,525 euros funded by the Sacem. The Régie
Culturelle Régionale provides assistance in terms

of film shooting and post-production equipment.
In so far as it is possible, the Municipality of
Aubagne provides logistical aid for the shooting.

address of the film director.
The selection committee composed of 7
members who meet once a year after a shortlist
is drawn up.
For the competition for a first film score : CV
with the postal address of the composer,
catalogue of works, choice of scores and
recordings.
The selection committee is composed of 3
members and meets once a year.
