PATRONS est une édition limitée qui se compose de
13 blouses de travail dont les motifs ont été conçus à
partir de documents consultés par Joséphine kaeppelin
aux Archives Nationales du Monde du Travail à Roubaix.
Inventaires de matériel d’usine, comptes-rendus de
réunion, cahiers de revendications, dossiers d’information,
courriers et lettres, notes manuscrites, revues d’entreprise,
fiches de poste, enquêtes, brochures, tracts et campagnes
de communication. Joséphine a relevé dans ces archives
les manières de dire ce que l’on fait.
Les phrases ou les mots interpellent, ils accrochent l’œil
autant que l’esprit, invitant à réfléchir aux mondes du
travail.
Le troupeau de blouses PATRONS forme une sorte de
monument érigé à la mémoire du travail. Comme pour
dire que nous arrivons à la fin d’un système et qu’il s’agit
maintenant de tourner la page et d’en écrire une nouvelle.
Avec cette édition de tenue de travail, Joséphine nous
invite à porter une blouse comme on endosserait un rôle.
À choisir un point de départ à partir duquel réfléchir - et
imaginer le travail de demain.
PATRONS is a limited edition that consists of 13 work
coats whose patterns were designed from documents
consulted at the National Archives of the World of Work
in Roubaix. Inventories of factory equipment, meetings
report, books of demands, information files, mails
and letters, handwritten notes, corporate magazines,
positions’ descriptions, surveys, brochures, flyers and
communication campaigns. Josephine Kaeppelin has
selected in those archives the ways of saying what we do.
Sentences or words grab our attention, they catch the
eyes as well as the mind, inviting us to think about the
worlds of work.
The herd of coats PATRONS forms a kind of monument
erected in memory of work. As if to say that we are coming
to the end of a system and that it is now time to turn the
page and write a new one. With this edition, Joséphine
invites us to wear a coat as one would assume a role. To
choose a starting point from which to think about - and
imagine the work of tomorrow.

La production de chaque patron est limitée à 3 exemplaires seulement.
Deux choix s’offrent à l’acquéreur pour chaque patron : sous la forme d’une blouse
de travail ou du pan de tissu brut.
Les patrons sont produits à la demande.
Le délai de production est d’environ 3 semaines à compter de la validation de la
commande (délai d’impression du tissu puis confection).
