«CEO STARTUP TALK»
WITH ANSHUL GUPTA
BY JULIE BODIN
Anshul Gupta, Founder and CEO of RazrCorp, met with Kamel
Amroune, CEO of Farvest Group, to discuss his exciting journey
which took him to Luxembourg, and notably shares the story
of the creation of his company. The two tech aficionados then
focused on some of the innovative solutions offered by the tech
startup, with a new product soon hitting the global market…
Kamel Amroune: What brought you to Luxembourg? Can you
tell us more about your background and how your journey
actually started?
Anshul Gupta: It’s been 4 years now in Luxembourg… and I am
totally loving it! We started Razr out of UK with our ticketing
platform called «Entertainrr». Incidentally, I got married and
the my wife got a job here, in Luxembourg. That is the reason
I relocated here.
Initially, while we were stabilizing our platform and onboarding
our first clients, we started new age IT services offerings and
got a good response from important clients like Vodafone,
Mercedes, EY, etc., just to name a few. At the same time, we
decided to setup an offshore development center in Bombay,
India.
Today, we are a tech team of 32 experts spread across
Luxembourg, London, Dubai and Bombay. In my career
spanning over 12 years, I have launched more than 5 mobile
apps scaling more than 5 million downloads for my previous
companies, and over 4 platforms. My career actually started
more than ten years ago, in 2007 in Bombay. And I’m glad
to now call Luxembourg «home» and the headquarters of
RazrCorp.
KA: Many players are offering quality IT services in
Luxembourg… How do you differentiate yourself from them?
Why are you so passionate about it?
AG: First of all, I think that Software will eat the world. Also,
Transformation will never end. Therefore, Digital will be an
ongoing process in every organization. And the companies
which will embrace IT transformation and evolving business
models at every step will be the winners. Look at how the
Direct to Consumer model took down Thomas Cook, just a
couple of months ago. Legacy businesses are failing due to a
lack of apt turnaround strategies.
We, at Razr, are the DOERS: we analyze business processes,
believe in automation to reduce human error and aim at
optimizing processes for long term business impact.
Being a small company we have our own little R&D centre
where our devs tinker with tech. For the last two years, we
have been training on Machine Learning models to solve
complicated problems and build use cases with our clients.
Our clients have realized that the tools and expertise we offer
to accomplish tasks, compared to those provided by legacy
IT companies, are much more advanced and have real impact
on their business.
Plus, we are in the product business with Entertainrr and
Stage (coming soon…): IT services are an attractive bet but
also a safety net in the long run. Moreover, our R&D team
keeps coming up with innovations across sectors.
KA: What is so special about Entertainrr? You launched a
ticketing platform when so many already exist…
AG: Actually, Entertainrr is not only a ticketing platform. Of
course, ticketing is the biggest selling point, but we realized
early in the process that there are very few systems on the
enterprise front able to solve problems for the venues. For
instance, a venue requires a system which covers everything:
Entertainrr already has an in-built artist booking tool, it
also deals with Supplier management (for a venue), Spend
analysis, Memberships, Live voting, Awards and Jury module,
CRM, and multiple integrations with third party providers. It’s
a very powerful stack which took two years to build. Now,
we upgrade it once a month with new features. We literally
started building Entertainrr out of a garage in Manchester.
The tool we came up with is efficient and is growing… for real!
We are working on the organization of several major events
in Luxembourg and are working with three venues in the UK
as we speak.
