Al FURJAN LOCATION
• Al Furjan is a vibrant residential development located between Sheikh Zayed Road and
Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, adjacent to the Discovery Gardens community and is accessible
from Al Yalayis Street and Al Asayel Street. Al Furjan continues to grow in popularity for its
great reputation as a strategic location for residential and commercial developments.
Residents can find all the amenities desired and enjoy easy access to Dubai’s landmarks.
Additionally, with the new metro line ‘Route 2020’ that is currently under construction for Expo
2020, Al Furjan will soon have extensive inroads into greater Dubai.
• Al Furjan is Arabic for a ‘collection of homes’ or ‘small village’ and the sales pitch is a
connected, friendly, community environment with houses built in small clusters connected by a
series of walkways and parks. According to the plan, grocery stores, restaurants, park areas,
sports facilities and a cycling track will be within walking distance of each residence.
• That said, where there are complaints about Al Furjan they centre on the upkeep of common
areas and buildings. Walkways and parks are fine if they are kept up well, but not if they are
going to be allowed to go into disrepair.
•
Al Furjan also includes a central complex, Masakin Al Furjan, which includes apartments, a
convenience store, café and leisure club with pool and gym. Membership of the latter is open
(at a cost) to everyone living the community.
• Al Furjan Pavilion, which opened in December 2016, houses a Spinneys supermarket, 10
food and beverage outlets, 24 shops, a Medicentre clinic and a car park for more than 300
vehicles. The complex also has a sports and recreation hub with a restaurant, swimming pool,
sports court and gym.
• Along with the current clusters of villas, two additional serviced apartment buildings by Azizi
Developments, Roy Mediterranean and Montrell, will have been delivered by the time this is
published. A further five apartment buildings, Azizi Star, Samia, Farishta and Shaista, plus
Plaza Hotel, all by the same developer, are due to arrive by June 2018.
• The project will eventually account for over 4,000 apartments, houses, hotels and commercial
space. It will also be home to the sustainability focused Arbor School, one of the most
interesting new school developments in Dubai. Other schools are located relatively nearby in
adjacent communities which are relatively easy to get to with current levels of traffic.
Congestion is however likely to pick up considerably in 2019, and further in 2020 as the
community matures..
