The BD Kiestra InoqulA is the new standard for inoculation. This high
throughput solution is able to process both liquid and non-liquid samples using
the unique Rolling Bead, which will ensure single colonies.
Rolling Bead
• This unique and innovative inoculation technique has been demonstrated
to generate up to 3 to 5 times more single colonies compared to manual
streaking methods
• The rolling bead covers a larger surface of agar than any other manual or
automated solution. This has proven to be the superior way of spreading a
sample
Process any type of specimen or container style
• Process swabs, urines and all other non-fluid samples. This helps maximize

The BD Kiestra WCA is a modular solution designed for labs of all sizes
that enables automated specimen processing, plate incubation and digital
imaging in a compact footprint.
Inoculation
The New Standard for Specimen Processing BD Kiestra InoqulA
automates the processing of both liquid and non-liquid bacteriology
specimens to help streamline workflow, enable standardized processes and
ensure consistent and high quality streaking.
Incubation
Intelligent incubation is possible with the 2nd generation BD Kiestra
incubator. The BD Kiestra ReadA Compact intelligent incubation and
imaging system combines the perfect atmosphere with automatic dynamic
digital imaging and individual plate storage within a small footprint. The
ReadA Compact uses a new high resolution industrial camera and three
different LED light sources, ensuring an optimal image is created for all
sample and media types. Depending on your needs, the WCA concept can
be configured with up to three ReadA Compact systems.
Reading - Digital Imaging
The ReadA Browser software application provides an easy to use and clear
plate image overview per specimen so that the growth dynamics can be
reviewed. Users can choose a specimen or patient driven overview.
Reading - Telebacteriology
Working anytime and anywhere is now possible. As a result of the Internet,
boundaries of time and location have disappeared. The ability to work from
multiple locations allows for flexibility to create an optimal workflow and a
quick response time.
