Merveilleusement harmonieuse, cette partie
de la Suisse centrale enrichit son décor
naturel de chalets massifs et petits ponts de
bois…une image si préservée qu’on la dirait
sortie d’un calendrier. Un itinéraire balisé
(Simmentaler Hausweg) invite les randonneurs
à se familiariser avec ces constructions
et enjolivures remontant parfois au 15e
siècle. (surtout vers Diemtigen, riche en façades
peintes ou à frises sculptées). Chargé
d’histoire, le château de Wimmis vaut un détour.
Sur ces paturages oberlandais prospère
une race bovine connue depuis le Moyen
����� ����� ���������� ���� ���� ������ ����� ����
à la fête annuellement, lors du traditionnel
marché au bétail, manifestation particulièrement
colorée. Zweisimmen, véritable carrefour,
donne l’accès au village de la Lenk

Ab Wimmis mit seinem dominanten
Schloss führt der Simmentaler Hausweg
vorbei an den schönsten Bauernhäusern,
Scheunen und Holzbrücken. Diese Perlen
der Zimmermannskunst, die auch im
Diemtigtal anzutreffen sind, reichen bis
ins 15. Jahrhundert zurück und zeugen,

von regionalem Reichtum und Stolz. Auf
den aussichtsreichen Simmentaler Alpen
– dazu lohnt sich auch eine Fahrt von Erlenbach
aufs Stockhorn – werden die seit
dem Mittelalter berühmten Simmentaler
Kühe mit weltweitem Erfolg gezüchtet.
Der Besuch einer der besonders farbenprächtigen
Viehmärkte in der Region
lohnt sich. In Zweisimmen steigen Sie um
oder machen noch einen Abstecher an die
Lenk zum imposanten Talabschluss mit
dem Wildstrubel.
The harmonious natural setting of this part
of Central Switzerland is enriched by sturdy
chalets and small wooden bridges, images
which appear to have been taken straight
from a calendar. A signed trail (Simmentaler
Hausweg) invites hikers to discover
these buildings and ornamental structures
some of which date from the 15th century,
particularly those around Diemtigen, a region
which is rich with painted facades or
sculpted friezes. The Wimmis castle which
is steeped in history is worth a detour. A
breed of cattle dating back to the Middle
Ages, whose meat is appreciated by gourmets,
thrives on these Oberland pastures. It
is celebrated each year by a very colourful
traditional cattle market. Zweisimmen, a
real crossroads gives access to the village
of Lenk, which nestles at the end of the valley
at the foot of the imposing Wildstrubel.
