About
My work has a specific sensorial quality and the interaction
with the audience is always an important part of the working
process. In addition to dance performances, this focus also
brought me to sensory installations and interactive exhibitions
led by dancers. Nature is never far away in my work. I am
looking for a more diverse dance scene: both on stage and
in the audience. This way I like to work with dancers with a
special way of moving or thinking. I have special interests in
a young audience and became one of the pioneers of dance
for an audience from 2,5 years old in Belgium. I am happy I
can share this knolledge as a coach….
Relationship nature / performer / audience
The first 2 weeks I was mainly busy connecting myself with
nature. By meditating, experimenting with my voice and
exploring nature in different sensory ways, I came closer to
my own nature through nature. As a dancer, this voyage of
discovery quickly turned into a very physical and sensory
quest… I stayed at the singing tree, admired the icicles in the
mystical forest, danced with the shadow of the flower, visited
the forest library and discovered Brooke in the coffee machine.
I was looking how I could translate these new ‘concepts’
into performances. This gave me more knowledge into the
relationship performer/nature/spectator. Can nature become
a performer? Can the public be absorbed in the nature?
Can the performer blend in with the audience? With these
new insights I can give my current work more depth and
grow further in the relationship dance-movement / nature.
