Thai Elephant Day
March 13th, 2016

@ Lampang Elephant Conservation Center, Chiang Mai.
Since 1998, the National Thai Elephant Day takes place every year on the 13th
of March. The aim of this day is to draw attention to this majestic animal.
In Chiang Mai, Elephant Nature Park will be celebrating this day by raising its
voice for the pachyderms’future. The Elephant Conservation Center in Lampang
will organize an all-you-can-eat fruit buffet held in their honor. Visitors are welcome
to join this beautiful celebration day (see article page 8).
Impression
Night Concert
MARCH 19th, 2016.

Join the “Impression Night Concert” where candle light, balcony
and fine music will meet. This concert is realized by the
Impression and Nimman Street Orchestra, led by Bringkop
from Payap University. Ticket cost 1,500 Baht including dinner
and a complimentary drink.

Sang Long which celebrates the ordination into the monkhood
of Shan boys. (see article page 22).
Pattaya Music
Festival
MARCH 18-20th, 2016.
@ Pattaya
The Pattaya Music Festival is in its 13th year now and the
Tourism Authority of Thailand claims that it is the longest
running beach music festival in Asia. This year it will feature four
stages : Main (orange)@ next to Hard Rock Cafe, Indy (blue)
@ Central Pattaya, Reggae (colors of Jamaica)@ Central
Pattaya and Easy Pop (green) @ South Pattaya. Plus additional
smaller stages featuring Motor Music Show and DJ/Techno/
Trance and even smaller venues along the strip will include:
classic, retro, jazz and more.
Cha Am
Kite Festival
MARCH 2016.
@ Cha Am Beach, Prachuap Khirikhan.
This annual festival boasts a vast array of colourful kites in a multitude of
shapes and sizes. Some kites are as tall as a 4 storey building, others take
on forms of animals and yet others are built in strange and wonderful shapes.
Cha Am Kite Festival takes place in mid-March, but you can see people playing
kites on Cha Am beach all month long. (to go to Cha Am from Chiang Mai, fly to
Hua Hin and drive 5 km).
