3PrefaceThe German violinist and musicteacher Oskar Rieding is famous tothis day for his easy violin concertosfor beginners. With this edition wepresent you with his Concerto forViolin and Piano op. 36 in D Major,which should be included in therepertoire of every violin pupil. Theconcerto can be played entirely in the1 st position. Our edition enables youto learn the piece systematically atthree different tempi with a professionalaccompaniment.The CD opens with the concertversion of each movement (violin andpiano). After tuning your instrument(Track 1), the musical work can begin.Your first practice session shouldbe at slow tempo. If your stereo systemis equipped with a balance control,you can place either the violinor the piano accompaniment in theforeground by adjusting the control.The violin always remains softly audiblein the background as a guide.In the middle position, both instrumentscan be heard at the same volume.If you do not have a balancecontrol, you can listen to the solo parton one loudspeaker and the pianopart on the other. Having masteredthe slow tempo, you can now advanceto the medium and original tempos.The piano accompaniment can beheard on both channels (withoutviolin) in stereo quality. Each movementhas been sensibly divided intosubsections for practice purposes. Youcan select the subsection you wantusing the track numbers indicatedin the solo part.
