the study of industrial problems. Within this framework, an experimentalcharacterization and a modelling of dynamic behaviour in shearing, underpreload, of a multi-layer structure were carried out. It is an elastomer/metalcomposite called ” Shim ”, used for vibroacoustic isolation in brakes. Thedeveloped model makes it possible to characterize the frequential behaviourof the composite according to the preload. A comparative study with finiteelements calculations is discussed.Key words : Elastomer, hyperelasticity, nonlinear viscoelasticity, great deformations,dynamic behaviour, multi-layer, experimental characterization.
