7. PhotoIreland Festival <strong>2011</strong><br />
Currently on its second year, PhotoIreland Festival is Ireland’s international<br />
festival of Photography. It is an event that ventures enthusiastically<br />
to celebrate Ireland’s photographic talents as well as representing<br />
practitioners and artists from abroad. Foremost, it is a festival<br />
that is vibrant, friendly, and all-inclusive: a festival for all to enjoy.<br />
The theme for <strong>2011</strong> is ‘Collaborative Change’. The ambitious programme<br />
includes exhibitions by photographic collectives from Germany,<br />
France and England, and site-specific curatorial projects. Also,<br />
it will be focused on Photo Books, offering an exclusive exhibition of<br />
Martin Parr’s Best photo books of the Decade, and a Book Fair. Special<br />
attention is paid this year to collecting photography, and all the<br />
practical and theoretical issues that surround it. They have programmed<br />
two talks in collaboration with the Irish Modern Art Museum, that<br />
will cover these issues, on the back of their exhibition ‘Out of the Dark<br />
Room: The David Kronn Collection’.<br />
The OFF Programme offers a great selection of contemporary photography<br />
by a great number of amateur and professional photographers,<br />
whose exhibitions will be dotted around the city of Dublin.<br />

PhotoIreland Festival est le festival international de la photographie<br />
irlandaise qui célèbre cet été sa deuxième édition. C’est un festival<br />
qui souhaite mettre en avant le talent des photographes irlandais et<br />
de certains artistes étrangers. C’est avant tout un festival dynamique<br />
et très sympathique qui prône la formule : «un festival pour le plaisir<br />
de tous».<br />
Le thème pour <strong>2011</strong> est «Changement collaboratif». L’ambitieux programme<br />
comprend des expositions par des collectifs de photographes<br />
allemands, français et anglais. Les livres photo auront une place importante<br />
dans cette deuxième édition. Une exposition exclusive de livres<br />
de Martin Parr, meilleur photographe de la décennie aura lieu et également<br />
un Salon du livre. Une attention toute particulière sera accordée au<br />
stockage de la photographie, et à tous les problèmes pratiques et théoriques<br />
qui l’entourent. Au programme également, deux conférences<br />
en collaboration avec le Musée d’Art Moderne Irlandais, qui couvrira<br />
la question : «Out of the Dark Room: The David Kronn Collection».<br />
Le programme OFF offre un large choix de photographie contemporaine,<br />
par des photographes amateurs et professionnels, dont les<br />
clichés seront disséminés partout dans la ville.
