SECTION II: INST ALL ATION AND MAINTEN ANCEII.3II.3.1START-UP INSTRUCTIONSIMPORTANT !The commissioning or first start-up of the machine(where envisaged) must only be carried out bypersonnel qualified to work on this t ype of product.DANGER!Before starting up, m ake sur e that the in stall ationand electrical connections conform with theinstructions in thi s manu al. Al so make sure thatthere are no unauthorised persons in the vicinit y ofthe machin e during the above operations.CHECKS PRIOR TO START-UPBefore starting up the unit, make sure that:1. the unit is c orrectl y positioned;2. the water s yst em outlet and inl et pi pes are c orrectly connec ted andinsulated;3. the pipes have been cl eaned and t he air has been bled out of them;4. the unit sl opes correctl y t owards the drai n and si phon;5. the exchangers are clean;6. the electrical c onnections are correct ;7. the screws hol ding the conductors are tightl y f astened;8. the power s upply volt age is correct;9. the motor-driven fan or electric heat er absorpti on is c orrect and doesnot exceed the maximum per mitted level;10. the suction grille is not blocked by residual installation material andthe filter is clean and correctly positioned.W e recommend running the unit at maximum speed for severalhours.II.4II.4.1MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONSDANGER!Scheduled mainten ance must be carried out b yskil led technici ans, qualified to work onconditioning and cooling product s. Use suit ablegloves.DANGER!Do not introduce pointed objects through the airinlet or outlet grilles.DANGER!Al ways use the m ains switch to i solat e the unitfrom the mains before carrying out an ymaintenance work on the unit, even if it is forinspection purposes only. Make sure that no oneaccidentally supplies po wer to the mach ine, lockthe mains swit ch in the OFF po sition.ORDINARY MAINTENANCEII.4.1.1 Monthly○ Check the cl eanlin ess of the ai r filter s.The air filt ers are made from fibre that c an be washed with water. Thecleanliness of the filters mus t be c hec ked at t he s tart of t he operatingseason and on a mont hly basis as st andard.II.4.1.2 Every Six Months○ Check the cl eanlin ess of the exchang er and the conden sationdrain.With the unit switc hed off, c hec k the condition of the exchanger and thecondens ation drai n. If necess ary:• remove any f oreign bodies from the fi nned s urface which mayobstruct the air fl ow;• clean off the dust with a j et of compr essed air;• was h with water and brus h gently;• dry wit h a j et of compressed air.• make sure that t he c ondensati on drain does not c ont ain anybloc kages t hat could hinder the normal wat er flow.○ Make sure that ther e i s no air in the water system.1. start up t he s yst em for a f ew mi nut es;2. stop the system;3. loosen the bleed screws on t he inlet line and bleed;Repeat t he operation several ti mes until no mor e air comes out of t hesystem.II.4.1.3End of Season○ Empty the water system (for all the coil s).In order to prevent damage caused by frost, we recommend draining allthe water from the s ystem at t he end of each seas on.II.4.1.4 Electrical CircuitWe rec ommend carryi ng out the f ollowing electrical circuit mai ntenanceoperations :• chec k t he electrical abs orption of the unit using an ammet er andcompare the value with that indicat ed i n the document ation.• inspect and c hec k t he tightness of the electrical c ont acts andterminals.48
