In the professional world of medical practice, ihe "tacit knowledge"which characterizes the clinical work of nurses has not often been thesource of theoretical frameworks. In the context of a research andtaining scheme, some researchers have proposed nursing professio¬nals a method consisting in exchanging letters about their practice. The written letters are used as clinical narratives, leading to areflexive analysis of some of the main theoretical themes coming outof their practice. In order to act as consultants in their variousspecialized fields, the nurses need to identify a frame of reference.41Pierre Dominicé, Université de Genève.Pages 41 -49 RECHERCHE et FORMATION N° 39 - 2002
