2012 HighlightsMake a garden of your life :435 Donors in 2012There were 435 donors – 374 businesses and 61 individuals –who contributed to the 2012 campaign, for a total of $ 287,215that was invested in the following marketing activities :advertising in the media, public relations, a promotional tourof Quebec, website and social media maintenance.Remember that FIHOQ also did its part, thanks to MAPAQ’s financialsupport, by investing over $300,000 in tool design : image, pictures,website, TV commercial, etc. to promote the 2012 campaign.These permanent tools willthe be used repeatedly over the nextfew years.The 2012 Campaign Yields Extraordinary Results !The first season of Make a garden of your lifeis already nearingits end and the findings indicate that it hits right on target !Remember that the goals of the campaign were to raise awarenessregarding the benefits of plants and gardening among the 35-55 yearolds so as to inspire them to consume our products and services.Interesting Data :•The public relations campaign generated unprecedented repercussionsin our industry. Television, radio, newspapers, Internet:reportersthroughout Quebec shared our invitation to discover or rediscover all thejoys and benefits inherent to plants and gardening. As of June 30th,91 articles, reports and interviews specifically addressing Make a gardenof your lifehad reached over 20 million readers and listeners throughoutthe province. You can find the press report on page 6.•As of June 30th, 130,360 pages of dujardindansmavie.comhad beenvisited; 47,814 visitors went to the contest page; and an average of 4.65pages were seen during each visit for an average time of 3.26 minutes.The 35-55 age group is especially well represented in Internet and socialmedia statistics.•As for the Make a garden of your life (Mettez du jardin dans votre vie)Facebook page, Campaign messages reached 215,329 persons thanks toour fans and their friends.•Close to 20,000 consumers from throughout the provinceentered the 3 contests on the dujardindansmanvie.comsite and onthe Campaign’s Facebook page.And it isn’t over yet since our contests run over the course of thesummer, culminating in the draw for a grand prize of $ 2,000on August 8. You can find the Campaign’s key highlights on thepages that follow.What Consumers Are SayingFrom June 26 to 28, 2012, the Table filière ran an omnibus stylesurvey among 1001 Quebec respondents. This survey’s results arerepresentative of the Quebec population.Two questions were asked to respondents. First, we asked themwhether they had seen or heard of the Make a garden of your lifeCampaign over the past few weeks. The survey confirmed that8% of households had seen, read or heard of the promotionalcampaign during the spring. An excellent statistic after just oneseason of campaigning !Next, we asked them the manner in which the campaign hadcome to their attention. It turned out that television was the mostefficient method of attracting a household’s attention, followed bywritten media (newspapers, magazines), radio and Internet.These results confirm that our marketing investment in televisionand public relations in various media was noticed by consumers.
