Powering Paper JamzTo start rocking out with your Paper Jamz Pro drums, move the power switch to the ON position.The drums start up in Freestyle mode.Sleep modeIf there is no activity for about 5 minutes, your drums will go into Sleep mode. To wake them, justturn the power switch OFF for at least 2 seconds and then back ON.Drum volume controlDrum solos so hot that you need to turn it up? To raise the volume, touch the “+” button. Rockingso hard that the neighbors can hear you? To lower the volume, touch the “-” button.Song volume controlTo lower a song’s volume so your drumming is the star of the show, touch and hold the hi-hatpedal while touching the “-” button. To raise a song’s volume, touch and hold the hi-hat pedalwhile touching the “+” button. The song volume resets to the default setting each time you starta song.Play FunctionsTappingTo play the drums, tap the drum or cymbal surface using your fingers.Freestyle modeIn Freestyle mode, you can choose to rock out onyour own or with a song.To play your own beats over a pre-loaded song, anofficial downloadable Paper Jamz Pro song or a songfrom your own music library, touch Menu and thenone of the song buttons (Song 1, Song 2 or Song 3).Getting StartedStopping or changing the songTo stop a song, touch Menu and then Stop. This will stop both the song and any loop that isplaying over it.Adding new songsYou can store up to three songs on your Paper Jamz Pro drums depending on song length.Add songs from your own music library using the free Paper Jamz Pro app or download songsthat have been “Certified Compatible” to take full advantage of enhanced features. Play functionsPlaying loopsA loop is a music sample that is repeated overand over again. Paper Jamz Pro drums have 3pre-loaded drum loops (Loop 1, Loop 2 and Loop3) and 1 custom drum loop (Custom Loop). Untilyou record your own custom loop, touchingCustom Loop will not have an effect.To play a loop, touch Menu and then Loop 1,Loop 2, Loop 3 or Custom Loop. To stop a loop,touch Menu and then Loop Stop. You can playloops over songs or while creating your ownmusic. Loops play at the current tempo.Recording loopsTo record your own loop, touch REC. The REC LED will light up except on the very first beat ofthe recording tempo. To stop recording a loop, touch REC again. After you stop recording, yourcustom loop will continue playing so you can decide if you want to keep it or create a new one.You can stop it by touching Menu and then Loop Stop.The total length of all loops is 8 beats. Oncethe 8 beats of the custom loop have finishedplaying or recording, the loop will play backfrom beat 1. This allows you to record multiplelayers in your custom loop. The metronomewill beat twice on the last beat, so you knowthe loop is coming to an end and will beginrepeating.You can change the speed of the custom loopwhile playing or recording by adjusting thetempo (see Setting Tempo on following page). The default tempo speed while recording a loop isthe last tempo you set. Watch the LED and listen to the metronome to keep track of the tempowhen recording custom loops.Note: Custom loops are only stored during your jamming session, so you can make new oneseach time you play.Setting tempoTempo is how fast or slow music plays. You can change the tempo of your loops by tapping thetempo button 3 times. The faster you tap, the faster the loop will play. To slow down the tempo,tap slower. The tempo LED always flashes to the current tempo.6

Play functionsBuilt-in tempo information is an enhanced drumfeature available for Paper Jamz Pro “CertifiedCompatible” songs. With this feature, all theloops and fills will automatically match thetempo of these songs. You cannot change thetempo while the song is playing.ENGYou can play loops and fills with non-certifiedsongs, but you will need to manually set a loop’stempo to approximate the tempo of the song.You can reset the loop tempo for non-certifiedsongs by touching Menu and Tempo.Playing drum fillsA drum fill is a short pattern that can be played withthe loop to make your drum beat more interesting.To play a drum fill, touch Fill 1 or Fill 2 at any time.The fills are synchronized with the loops, so youmay not hear the fill start immediately. If no loop isplaying, the fills will still synchronize to the internaltempo so you can turn loops on and off and stay insync with the tempo.Changing drum kitsYour Paper Jamz Pro drum comes with 3 pre-loadeddrum kits, each with its own distinct sound, and you candownload additional ones to bring even more noise fromwww.paperjamzpro.comTo switch to a new drum kit, touch Menu and thentouch FX Kit 1, FX Kit 2 or FX Kit 3. When you changedrum kits, you will also change the drum loop and fillsamples to expand your sound.Note: If you play a fill while a loop is playing, the fillwill play over it. FonctionsJouer des bouclesUne boucle est un échantillon musical qui estrépété à l’infini. Paper Jamz Pro a 3 boucles debatteries pré-chargées (Boucle 1, Boucle 2, Boucle3) et 1 boucle de batterie personnalisée (BouclePersonnalisée). Jusqu’à ce que tu enregistres tapropre boucle personnalisée, toucher le boutonBoucle Personnalisée n’aura aucun effet.Pour jouer une boucle, touche Menu, puis Boucle1, Boucle 2, Boucle 3 ou Boucle personnalisée. Pour arrêter une boucle, touche Menu, puis ArrêtBoucle. Tu peux jouer des boucles sur des chansons ou lorsque tu crées tes propres morceaux.Les boucles sont jouées au tempo sélectionné.FREnregistrer des bouclesPour enregistrer ta propre boucle, touche REC. Le voyant REC LED s’allumera sauf au premierbattement du tempo en cours d’enregistrement. Pour arrêter l’enregistrement d’une boucle,touche REC à nouveau. Une fois l’enregistrement arrêté, ta boucle personnalisée continuera à êtrejouée pour que tu puisses décider si tu veux la garder ou si tu préfères en créer une autre. Tu peuxl’arrêter en touchant Menu, puis Arrêt Boucle.La durée totale de toutes les boucles estde 8 battements. Une fois la lecture oul’enregistrement des 8 battements de la bouclepersonnalisée terminé, la boucle sera jouée ànouveau à partir du premier battement. Celate permet d’enregistrer plusieurs couchesdans ta boucle personnalisée. Le métronomebattra deux fois sur le dernier battement afinque tu saches que la boucle va se terminer etrecommencer depuis le début.Tu peux modifier la vitesse de la bouclepersonnalisée lorsque tu la lis ou l’enregistres en ajustant le tempo (voir Régler le tempo à lapage suivante). La vitesse par défaut du tempo lorsque tu enregistres une boucle est le derniertempo que tu as réglé. Surveille la LED et écoute le métronome pour suivre le tempo lorsque tuenregistres des boucles personnalisées.Remarque : Les boucles personnalisées ne sont stockées que durant ta séance d’improvisation ;tu peux ainsi en créer des nouvelles à chaque fois que tu joues.Régler le tempoLe tempo correspond à la vitesse à laquelle tu joues. Tu peux modifier le tempo des boucles entapant 3 fois sur le bouton du tempo. Plus tu tapes vite, plus la boucle sera jouée rapidement.Pour ralentir le tempo, tape plus lentement. Le voyant LED du tempo clignote toujours au rythmedu tempo sélectionné.13

FonctionsLes informations intégrées sur le tempo sontune fonctionnalité avancée de la batterie quiest disponible pour les chansons « certifiéescompatibles » Paper Jamz Pro. Avec cettefonctionnalité, toutes les boucles et tous les fillsseront automatiquement réglés sur le tempo detes chansons. Tu ne peux pas changer le tempopendant la lecture de la chanson.Tu peux jouer des boucles et des fills avec deschansons non certifiées, mais tu devras réglermanuellement le tempo d’une boucle pourqu’il se rapproche du tempo de la chanson. Tu peux réinitialiser le tempo de la boucle pour deschansons non certifiées en touchant Menu et Tempo.Jouer des fills de batterieUn fill de batterie est un court motif rythmique qui peut être joué avec la boucle pour rendreton battement de batterie plus intéressant. Pour jouer un fill de batterie, touche Fill 1 ou Fill 2 àn’importe quel moment. Funciones de interpretaciónInterpretar buclesUn bucle es un fragmento musical que se repiteuna y otra vez. La batería Paper Jamz Pro incorporatres bucles pregrabados (Bucle 1, Bucle 2 y Bucle3) y uno personalizado (Bucle personalizado);mientras no grabes tu propio bucle personal, alpulsar Bucle personalizado no ocurrirá nada.Para reproducir un bucle, pulsa Menú y acontinuación Bucle 1, Bucle 2, Bucle 3 o Buclepersonalizado, y para detenerlo pulsa Menú y después Detener el bucle. Puedes poner buclescomo acompañamiento de una canción o mientras creas tu propia música; los bucles sereproducen al tempo que rija en ese momento dado.Grabar buclesPara grabar tu propio bucle, pulsa REC (grabar); se encenderá el LED de grabación excepto en elprimer compás del tempo de grabado. Para detener el proceso, vuelve a pulsar REC. Cuando paresde grabar, el bucle personalizado seguirá sonando, de modo que tendrás la posibilidad de decidirsi quieres conservarlo o si prefieres crear otro. Puedes detenerlo pulsando Menú y a continuaciónDetener el bucle.La longitud total de todos los bucles esde ocho compases; una vez que concluyala reproducción o la grabación de estosocho compases, el bucle volverá a sonardesde el primero, lo que te permite grabarmúltiples capas en tu bucle personalizado.El metrónomo suena dos veces en el últimocompás, con lo cual sabrás que el bucle seacerca a su fin y va a empezar a repetirse.Mientras tocas o grabas, puedes variar la velocidad del bucle personalizado ajustando el tempo(consulta Configurar el tempo en la página siguiente). Puedes variar el tempo de losbucles dándole tres veces al botón del tempo: cuanto más rápido lo pulses, más rápido sereproducirá el bucle; para ralentizar el tempo, pulsa el botón más despacio. El LED siempreparpadea en consonancia con el tempo que rija en un momento dado.20

Funciones de interpretaciónComo característica superior de la batería, existeinformación pregrabada sobre el tempo que estádisponible para las canciones de Paper Jamz Proque gozan de un “certificado de compatibilidad”.Con esta característica, todos los bucles yrellenos se adaptan automáticamente al tempode dichas canciones, y no puedes cambiarlomientras estas se estén interpretando.Es posible reproducir bucles y rellenos concanciones no certificadas, pero tendrás queconfigurar manualmente el tempo del bucle para que se aproxime al de la canción. En el caso deestas canciones no certificadas, puedes reconfigurar el tempo del bucle pulsando Menú y Tempo.ESPTocar rellenos de bateríaUn relleno es un breve patrón que se puedereproducir con el bucle para hacer más interesante elritmo de la batería. Para hacer sonar un relleno, pulsaRelleno 1 o Relleno 2 cuando te apetezca. Como losrellenos están sincronizados con los bucles, tal vezno los oigas inmediatamente.
