When the vibration of your dog’s bark triggers the Sensor Probe, a StaticCorrection is administered through the Contact Points. The Bark Control Collarstarts with the lowest level of Static Correction and then increases through 6 levelseach time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark. If your dog doesnot bark again within 30 seconds, the Bark Control Collar will reset itself to thelowest level of Static Correction. Along with each Static Correction, there will be anaudible beep. Fit the Bark Control CollarImportant: The proper fit and placement of your BarkControl Collar is important for effective operation. TheContact Points must have direct contact with your dog’sskin on the underside of his neck.To assure a proper fit, please follow these steps:1. Make sure that the battery is not installed in the Bark ControlCollar.2. Start with your dog standing comfortably.3. Place the Bark Control Collar high on your dog’sneck close to the ears. Center the Contact Pointsunderneath your dog’s neck, touching the skin.Note: It is sometimes necessary to trim the hair around theContact Points to make sure that contact is consistent.4. Check the tightness of the Bark Control Collar byinserting one finger between the end of a ContactPoint and your dog’s neck. The fit should be snugbut not constricting.5. 6. Trim the collar as follows:a. Mark the desired length of the BarkControl Collar with a pen. Allow for growthif your dog is young or grows a thick wintercoat.b. Battery LifeAverage battery life is 3 to 6 months, depending on how often your dog barks.However, due to greater use during your dog’s training, your first battery may notlast as long as replacement batteries.Low Battery IndicatorDuring normal operation the Indicator Light remains off. As the product is used,the battery will be drained to a weakened state. At this point, the Indicator Lightwill begin to flash to show that it is time to change the battery.What to Expect During Use of the Bark Control CollarImportant: Do not leave your dog alone the first few times he receives a StaticCorrection.Place the Bark Control Collar properly on your dog and wait nearby until he barks.Most dogs will understand very quickly that the Bark Control Collar is disrupting theirurge to bark and will relax and stop barking. Because the Static Correction from theBark Control Collar may be surprising or startling at first, some dogs may bark more atthe initial correction.On rare occasions, a dog may get into a bark-correction-bark-correction cycle. If thishappens, reassure your dog with calm, soothing tones. RFA-67You should notice a reduction in your dog’s barking within the first couple of daysthat he wears the Bark Control Collar. At this point, it is important to remember thelearning process is still not complete. Dogs will “test” this new learning experience andwill increase their attempts to bark. This usually occurs during the second week a dogwears the Bark Control Collar. If this does occur, remain consistent and do not alteryour use of the Bark Control Collar. You must place the Bark Control Collar on yourdog in every situation when you expect him to be quiet. Come applicare il Collare Bark ControlImportante: La corretta applicazione e posizionamentodel Collare Bark Control sono importanti ai fini di unefficace funzionamento. I Punti di Contatto devonoessere direttamente a contatto con la pelle del cane sullato inferiore del collo.Per garantire un’applicazione adeguata procedetecome segue:1. Verificate che la batteria non sia installata nel CollareBark Control.2. Il cane deve trovarsi comodamente in posizioneeretta.3. Applicate il Collare Bark Control mantenendolo altosul collo del cane, vicino alle orecchie. Centrate iPunti di Contatto sotto il collo del cane, mettendolia contatto con la pelle.Nota: A volte è necessario tagliare il pelo intorno ai Punti diContatto per assicurare un contatto uniforme.YESNO4. Cosa può accadere durante l’uso del Collare Bark ControlImportante: Non lasciate da solo il vostro cane le prime volte che riceveràuna Correzione Statica.Applicate correttamente il Collare Bark Control sul vostro cane ed attendete nellevicinanze finché abbaierà. La maggior parte dei cani capisce molto rapidamenteche il Collare Bark Control contrasta il loro abbaiamento e si calmerà, smettendodi abbaiare. Poiché la Correzione Statica impartita dal Collare Bark Control puòrisultare all’inizio sorprendente o disorientante, alcuni cani possono inizialmenteabbaiare in occasione della correzione iniziale.In rare occasioni, un cane può entrare in un circolo continuo abbaiamentocorrezione-abbaiamento-correzione.In questo caso rassicurate il cane convoce calma e tranquillizzante. Quando il vostro cane si sarà calmato, si renderàconto che, se si tranquillizzerà, non riceverà più Correzioni Statiche. La piccolaminoranza di cani che presenta questa reazione, generalmente lo fa soltanto inoccasione del primo utilizzo del Collare Bark Control.Dovreste notare una riduzione dell’abbaiamento del vostro cane entro i primi duegiorni di utilizzo del Collare Bark Control. A questo punto è importante rammentareche il processo di apprendimento non è ancora completo. I cani “testeranno” questanuova esperienza e tenteranno più volte di abbaiare.
