SYSTEM@TIC PARIS-REGION LES PROJETS DE R&D AU CŒUR DE LA RÉVOLUTION NUMÉRIQUE
The goal of the TSC project is to provide the basic components enabling and enforcing security and trust in Information and Communication Technologies.
More precisely, the project is focusing on the following aspects:
• Develop the HW (and embedded SW) silicon devices enforcing secure and trusted computing, including: Trusted Processor Modules, Mobile Trusted Modules,
Trusted Secure Software Stacks, Secure Personal Tokens
•Develop suitable trust concepts and architecture elements for all application domains targeted by the project, including computing, mobile and consumer
•Coordinate all European contributions related to Trusted Computing standards, and especially in the scope of the Trusted Computing GroupTM (TCG) initiative
The TSC project is an international Eureka project, funded under the MEDEA+ umbrella, which has also been labelled by the SYSTEM@TIC PARIS REGION
and SCS competitiveness clusters.
PROJECTS PLANS & DELIVERABLES
The project will deliver a set of components and the related management
infrastructure that will allow European administrations and Enterprises
to:
>
Minimize their current dependency form US companies in critical
components
MAJOR PHASES OF THE PROJECTS
The TSC project is made of six work-packages that will run over three
m a i n p h a s e s, a c c o rd i n g t o t h e fo l l o w i n g ro a d m a p :
>
>
>
Phase 1 (planned end-date: June 2008). Architecture and specifications
Phase 2 (planned end-date: June 2009): development of Trusted
components and management infrastructure principles
Phase 3 (planned end date; December 2009): validation
The overall project concept is described by the following picture
>
>
>
>
Minimize their exposure to the current level of fraud coming from
Internet or network piracy
Offer higher level of protection against business intelligence attack
Offer higher level of protection for sensitive data
Manage flexible and innovative implementations of some cryptographic
and privacy-related features
STATUS
The project is currently nearly finishing a description of the reference
architectures pertaining to the target application domains and emphasizing
the security concepts needed to improve the level of trust
for ICT platforms supporting critical applications. A set of use cases,
jointly developed with the PFC project, is also under finalization.
