Avant guerre : c’est sur le marécage de Piquecaillou à la porte de Bergerac que
s’installeront les pionniers de l’aviation.
1930 : création de l’Aéro-club de la Dordogne.
1939 : les installations et la piste sont déplacées à Roumanière.
Mai 1969 : M. Boisseau, transporteur, et M. Lagarde, négociant en voiture,
proposent d’effectuer un aller-retour quotidien Bergerac-Paris sur un Piper Aztec
de 4 places. La CCI et la ville de Bergerac apportent leurs fonds et se lancent
dans l’aventure : c’est la naissance d’Air-Périgord.
A partir de 1978, les compagnies aériennes du Languedoc, Air Littoral, Flandre
Air, Protéus, Régional et Airlinair se succèdent pour exploiter la ligne.
9 décembre 2001 : M. Jean-Pierre Conte, président de la CCI de Bergerac
et M. José Camacho, président de la compagnie aérienne Buzz, mettent en place
une liaison quotidienne avec Londres Stansted.
Le premier vol décolle le 23 mars 2002. Depuis, de nombreuses destinations
sont proposées au départ de Bergerac (Belgique, Iles Britanniques, Pays-Bas),
et l’Aéroport passe de 61 000 passagers annuels en 2002 à près de 300 000
en 2009.
2009 : fi n des travaux d’extension de l’aérogare, permettant d’accueillir jusqu’à
400 000 passagers par an avec un haut niveau de sécurité. Ces travaux ont été
fi nancés par la Région Aquitaine, le Conseil Général de la Dordogne, la ville de
Bergerac et la CCI Dordogne.
Pre-war memories : the pioneers of aviation started a flight meeting on the
Piquecaillou marsh, at the gates of Bergerac.
1930 : Creation of the Dordogne Aero Club.
1939 : The buildings and the runway are moved to Roumanière.
May 1969 : Mr. Boisseau, a transporter, and Mr. Lagarde, a car saleman,
propose organizing a daily flight from Bergerac to Paris and back on a 4-seater
Piper Aztec. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the town of Bergerac
offer a subsidy and join in the adventure: hence, the birth of Air-Périgord.
From april 1978, the Languedoc company starts operating, followed by Air
Littoral, Flandres Air, Protéus, Régional et Airlinair.
9th December 2001 : Mr. Jean-Pierre Conte, president of the Bergerac Chamber,
and Mr. José Camacho, president of the airline company Buzz, decide to set up
a daily link with London Stansted.
The first flight takes off on the 23rd March 2002. Since then numerous
destinations have been proposed from Bergerac to Belgium, the British Iles and
the Netherlands and the Airport has developed from carrying 61 000 annual
passengers in 2002 to almost 300 000 in 2009.
2009 : end of the extension work on the terminal to permit the passage of up to
400 000 clients per year with a high level of security. The work was financed by
the Aquitaine Region, the Conseil Général of the Dordogne, the town of Bergerac
and the Dordogne Chamber.
