Les formulations ainsi sélectionnées par le PND pourront par la suite être analysées par la méthode
isotopique afin de s’assurer de leur efficacité vis-à-vis d’une salissure protéique. Enfin, l’XPS permettra
de contrôler la compatibilité chimique et la rinçabilité des formulations vis-à-vis du matériau et de valider
leurs performances sur une salissure lipido-glucido-protéique plus représentative. Nous aurons également
recours à cette technique pour étudier le mode d’action des enzymes et des principes actifs antimicrobiens
en rapport à la surface.
L’XPS est une technique extrêmement informative, néanmoins elle reste délicate à mettre en œuvre. Le
dispositif expérimental requiert une enceinte sous ultra haut vide et le transfert des échantillons jusqu’à la
chambre d’analyse rallonge considérablement le temps requis pour leur analyse. Ainsi, nous aurons plus
facilement recours à la méthode isotopique pour la sélection des formulations ou des procédés de
nettoyage. Bien que la méthode isotopique soit contraignante en raison de la manipulation d’éléments
radioactifs, c’est une méthode rapide nous permettant de traiter un nombre important d’échantillons en un
minimum de temps.
