Jørgen Høj (1925) – Danemark
Ebéniste et spécialiste du métal, médaille d’argent de la Danish
School of Arts and Crafts (1947), Jørgen Høj dirige toujours,
depuis 1955, son propre studio de design.
JH106 Cette chaise en cordes de lin sur structure en bois blond,
dessinée avec Poul Kjærholm en 1952 pour l’Atelier Thorvald Madsen,
résume parfaitement les critères modernistes. À la fois effacée
et remarquable, alliant géométrie et transparence, elle engage
un dialogue sophistiqué avec le décor qui l’entoure.

Jørgen Høj (1925) – Denmark
A woodworker, metal specialist and winner of a silver medal
at the Danish Arts and Crafts School (1947), Jørgen Høj has
directed his design studio since 1955.
JH106 This linen cord chair on a blond wood structure, designed
with Poul Kjærholm in 1952 for the Thorvald Madsen workshop,
perfect sums up modernist criteria. Discrete, yet with a presence,
linking geometry and transparency, it triggers a sophisticated
dialogue with the surrounding decor.

Poul Kjaerholm (1929 – 1980) – Danemark
Légende du design danois aux créations sans compromis, Grand Prix
à la Triennale de Milan (1957, 1960) et lauréat du Prix Lunning (Nobel
du design) en 1958, édité par Fritz Hansen, il est exposé au MOMA
de New York ou au National Art Center de Tokyo.
PK25 La chaise PK 25 (1952), racée et minimaliste, résume son style
naturel et innovant. Sur une structure de métal chromé, les drisses de lin
(naturel ou teinté en noir) viennent tisser une assise souple.

Poul Kjaerholm (1929 – 1980) – Denmark
A Danish design legend thanks to his uncompromising creations,
the Grand Prize winner at the Milan Triennale (1957,1960) and the
1958 winner of the Lunning Prize (the design world’s Nobel prize),
the creator of this chair, edited by Fritz Hansen, is exhibited at the MOMA
in New York and at the National Arts Center of Tokyo.
PK25 The pure-bred, minimal PK 25 chair (1952), sums up his
natural, innovative style. Linen halyards (natural or dyed black)
weave a supple seat on a chrome structure.

Chaise Harpe, 1968 Inspirée de la proue d’un drakkar viking,
son châssis est en frêne, l’assise et le dossier sont composés d’un réseau
de cordage tressé et tendu sur piétement cruciforme à jambes profilées.
Cette icône du design scandinave, qui crée un puissant effet optique
à l’origine d’un extrême confort, fait partie de nombreuses collections
privées dont celle de Silvia Fendi à Rome.

Jorgen Hovelskov – Denmark
The Harp Chair, 1968 The Harp or Viking Chair is inspired by
the prow of a Viking drakkar. Its seat and back are composed of a
network of woven, tense cords strung on a cross-shaped, slim-legged
chassis in ash. This icon of Scandinavian design, which creates a
strong optical effect melding into extreme comfort, is part of many
private collections including that of Silvia Fendi in Rome.
