Un visage enfantin et mutin à la Twiggy, noir et blanc, doucement se
met en branle, déployé sur toute l’amplitude de l’image. L’artiste
saute à la corde, cadrée visage et épaules uniquement. Mais ce sautillement
est un prétexte, car dans ce va et vient ascensionnel et sous
les impulsions renouvelées du corps invisible, le visage se délite. En
même temps des sonorités sourdes, étouffées, aquatiques emplissent
l’espace. L’enveloppe charnelle se désagrège, révélant la part animale
enfouie en chacun de nous qui nous invite à l’identification de
notre propre stupéfaction. MG
A childlike, impish face, like Twiggy, in black and white, starts to
move, filling the entire image. The artist is skipping, the camera framing
just face and shoulders. But this jumping is a pretext, for in this rising
and falling, under the repeated impetus of the invisible body, the
face loses its composure. At the same time, the space is filled with
muted, muffled, watery sounds. Rather, we are witnessing a process of
abstraction. The fleshly envelope loses its form, revealing the animal that
is within us all, and we are invited to acknowledge our stupefaction. MG

Conte de 8 minutes tourné en Angleterre dans le Wiltshire. L’architecture de ce film a été conçue comme un labyrinthe. Dans cette histoire
sans fin, Alice Anderson invite le spectateur à errer dans l’imaginaire d’une femme qui revit sans cesse le jour de sa disparition sans
avoir conscience de son origine. À partir de la certitude d’avoir été bannie par sa mère dans son enfance pour avoir commis un crime
mystérieux, plusieurs possibilités vont se superposer et élucider ses réminiscences.
Story shot in Wiltshire, southwest England. Duration: 8 minutes. The architecture of this film was conceived as a maze. In this story
without an end, Alice Anderson invites the spectator to enter the imagination of a woman who constantly re-experiences the day of
her disappearance, but with no awareness of how it all started. As she recalls the undeniable fact of having been sent away by her
mother, her recollections produce several possibilities to explain the punishment for her mysterious crime.
