Le film évoque le repos éternel, faisant différentes références<br />
culturelles et jouant sur la satire. Inspirée par la peinture<br />
Ophélie de Millais, la vidéo montre Ophélie (l’artiste) incarnée<br />
par une femme indienne qui est insouciante et libre. Cette<br />
femme du XXI e siècle tente de faire un choix. Son choix n’est<br />
pas commun, elle désire déterminer un endroit pour le repos<br />
éternel. Vêtue élégamment d’un sari qui balaye doucement le<br />
sol qu’elle foule, on la découvre errant dans différents endroits<br />
– une salle de bain, un supermarché, un cimetière, une grandrue,<br />
un jardin et enfin une rivière, (comme la peinture originale)<br />
où elle choisit finalement de reposer. L’artiste chante une<br />
berceuse indienne, un chant hypnotique en arrière-plan qui<br />
raconte l’histoire d’une fleur tendre qui est sur le point de dormir.<br />

The work revolves the idea of eternal sleep, making several<br />
cross cultural references and playing on satire. Inspired by<br />
the painting of Ophelia by Millais, the video shows Ophelia<br />
(the artist) as an Indian woman who is carefree and empowered.<br />
She is a woman of the 21st century trying to make a<br />
choice. Her choice is one that is uncommon; she wishes to<br />
choose a place of her final rest. Dressed elegantly in a sari<br />
that gently sweeps the ground she walks on, she is shown<br />
wandering through different locations - a bathroom, supermarket,<br />
a cemetery, a high street, grand-rue, a garden, and<br />
finally a river, (as in the original painting) where she chooses<br />
to finally rest. The artist sings an Indian lullaby as a hypnotic<br />
chant in the background that tells the tale of a tender flower<br />
that's about to sleep. The piece was created in France. MG<br />
