Spectrum est une série de photographies retouchées de marches et de
manifestations à travers le monde, dont les slogans des pancartes et des
bannières ont été enlevés. Au lieu d’afficher un sens et les revendications
des porteurs, elles ne sont plus que tissus ou papiers, renvoyant aux sculptures
publiques de Christo, mais à une échelle bien plus petite et locale.
Sur ces photos, les bannières et pancartes deviennent des objets colorés,
sculpturaux et tactiles, et le titre, Spectrum, reflète la disposition de ces
images suivant les couleurs plutôt que par conviction politique. ES
Spectrum is a series of digitally manipulated photographs of world-wide
protests and marches, from which the text from banners and placards
has been removed. Instead of carrying meaning and proclaiming the
bearer’s beliefs, they become pure cloth or paper, referencing the public
sculptures of Christo, but on a much smaller, more local scale. The banners
and placards become colourful, sculptural and tactile objects in these
photographs and the title, Spectrum, reflects the organization of these
images according to colour rather political persuasion. ES
