Katrin a 15 ans, elle est née à Tallin. Son père est estonien et sa mère est russe. Lorsque sa mère fut incarcérée, elle vécut quelques mois
avec son père, mais le quitta pour habiter chez une amie. Sa mère libérée, elles vinrent toutes deux s’installer à Sillamäe, où elles trouvèrent
un milieu russe plus familier pour elles, et c’est là que je l’ai rencontrée. Dans ce film, Katrin évoque les relations entre Russes et
Estoniens en Estonie. EdM
Katrin is 15 years old. She was born and raised in Tallinn. Her father is Estonian, her mother is Russian. While her mother was in prison she
went to live with her father for a few months, and then left him to stay with a friend. When her mother was released, they both came to live
in Sillamäe, a Russian environment more familiar to them, and this is where I met her. She shares her opinion about the relationship between the
Russian and Estonian communities. EdM

Les jeunes que j’ai rencontrés dans la rue centrale de Sillamäe sont d’origine russe mais sont nés et habitent en Estonie. Ils évoquent ici la
question de la langue au sein de la communauté russe : ils parlent russe entre eux et à peine quelques mots d’estonien. Ils racontent aussi
leur ennui, le soir, dans cette ville au bout de l’Europe. EdM
The young people I met in the central street of Sillamäe are inhabitants of Sillamäe. They are of Russian origin and live in Estonia, where
most of them were born. They raise here the issue of Russian and Estonian languages within the Russian community. They also mention their
boredom at night, in this city at the very edge of Europe. EdM
