Un jour, je suis tombé sur un texte qui m’était envoyé sur mon
blog extrait d’un livre. Ce texte nous racontait l’histoire de la
chanson Happy Birthday de façon très exacte : où a-t-elle a été
écrite, quand a-t-elle été écrite, qui l’a écrite, dans quel
contexte ? Je me suis inspiré de ce texte pour réaliser cette
vidéo, mais ce qui m’intéressait le plus dans cette histoire quasi
“hollywoodienne”, c’était de voir la progression des droits d’auteurs
au fil du temps. Happy Birthday est sans doute une des
chansons les plus connues de la planète entière, mais elle est
encore protégée par des droits d’auteur qui rapportent une certaine
somme d’argent assez importante à leurs propriétaires. TT
One day, I discovered a text taken from a book which was sent
to my blog. This text tells us the exact story of the "Happy
Birthday" song. Where was it written, when it was written,
who wrote it, in what context? I was inspired by this text to
make this video, but what most interested me in this almost
"Hollywood" story was to see the development of the
authors' rights over time. "Happy Birthday" is no doubt one of
the most well-known songs on the whole planet, but it is still
protected by author's rights which brings in a quite considerable
sum of money to its owners. TT
